CADMATIC Viewer/2D Symbol Editor
CADMATIC design software includes an application for viewing and editing 2D drawings. The drawings can be entire documents with one or more pages, or they can be individual symbols that are used for example in the P&ID application.
The name of this tool depends on the context:
- Dxf/Dwg Viewer is for viewing and editing documents stored in the following formats: DAE, DGN, DWF, DWG, DXF, PAR, and PDF. The tool can be manually opened from the Cadmatic Viewer toolbar button of Plant Modeller and P&ID, and it opens automatically when a CADMATIC user selects to view or edit a drawing whose file type is not configured to open in some other application installed on the same computer.
- CADMATIC 2D Symbol Editor is for viewing and editing 2D symbols. The tool opens when the user selects to edit a 2D symbol stored in the project or library database, and the symbol has the attribute 2D symbol editor compatible set to "Yes".
In this manual, we use "CADMATIC Viewer" as an umbrella term for the different variations of this application. The user interfaces are mostly the same, but the symbol editor has additional tools for managing connection nodes.
