Object types hosted in Plant Modeller areas

All Plant Modeller 3D objects and some other objects that are hosted in the area model have an object type definition that describes what kind of high-level objects they are. This object type definition can be used as a selection method when creating a model query, when picking a set of objects from the model, and so on.

Each object type can be referred to via its "obt" tag value. This is used, for example, in the 3D publishing control file that selects which model objects to include in the published eBrowser model, as described in 3D publishing control.

The object types that can be used in 3D publishing by referring to their obt tag value are:

• obt 1 = Equipment
• obt 2 = Standard Component
• obt 3 = Pipe (obsolete; use obt 9 instead)
• obt 4 = Structural Component
• obt 5 = Beam
• obt 6 = HVAC
• obt 7 = Cable Tray
• obt 8 = Cable
• obt 9 = Piping Part
• obt 10 = Pipe Part (obsolete, use obt 9 instead)
• obt 11 = Weld
• obt 12 = 3D Space
• obt 15 = Group (This is also used for System for publishing purposes)
• obt 17 = Request for Holes
• obt 18 = Hull Construction Part
• obt 19 = Cable Network Part

The object types that cannot be used in 3D publishing are:

• obt 13 = Temporary Geometry Object
• obt 14 = Attribute
• obt 16 = EPD (Externally Provided Data) Object
