Replace with parts

You can use the Replace with parts tool to replace a straight air duct piece with a fixed-size duct part. If the replacement part is shorter than the existing duct piece, the program adds as many instances of the part as are needed to fill the same space. The program stops adding parts if the added part would replace a portion of the duct piece that has a part added to its side.

Do the following:

1. Select the Ducting tab > Duct parts group > Replace with parts.

2. In a work view, pick the required duct piece by clicking near the end where replacing should start, and accept the selection.

   The Select Component dialog opens, listing parts that have a matching geometry and cross-section dimension.

3. Select the duct part to use, and click OK.

   The straight duct piece is replaced with one or more instances of the designated duct part.
