Using the integration
Pipelines
The basic idea is that the diagram designer defines the pipelines and all required data in CADMATIC P&ID. This can be done so that first the pipelines are defined for use in P&ID, and after finishing the diagram, the designer publishes it and allows the pipelines to be used also in Plant Modeller (by changing the value of an attribute). The same approach can be used for systems.
When the 3D designer inserts a pipe into the model, the program checks that the pipe has the correct nominal size.
Equipment
At the lowest level, only the position ID and system of the equipment are used. If the equipment exists in the library, the diagram designer can select the correct component in P&ID, so the 3D designer does not need to select it when inserting the equipment into the model.
Armatures
The basic idea is that the diagram designer defines the component model in P&ID and then it is used in Plant Modeller. P&ID provides tools for creating rules to select components.
You do not have to create new integration rules every time you use the integration. If the rules have not changed, you can simply run the existing rule, for example after the diagram is ready for modeling.
Note: You must assign a position ID to armatures and equipment in order to use the integration, and you must check the diagram in to make the position IDs available to Plant Modeller.
After selecting the correct system, you will see a list of equipment that has not yet been placed in the model in the selected system.
