Work Requests
The Work Request Manager tool provides CADMATIC Plant Modeller, P&ID and Hull users an agile but controlled way to communicate with each other. In a typical usage scenario, a designer requests a design modification from another designer. The sender and the recipient of the request can be users of the same or different CADMATIC applications. Work requests replicate to any replica site in a distributed project via CADMATIC CoDesigner, just like any other design data.
After a new work request is created, all the target users are automatically notified of unread requests when starting a new application session. The reply mechanism allows users to respond to, expand, and edit the content of work requests. They can change the status, add comments, and attach any files to the request. Project management can also use the same tool to communicate with the designers.
As a 3D design tool, Plant Modeller provides extensive functionality for creating and browsing work requests.
-
Target objects can be browsed visually in 3D view, using the current 3D model.
-
eBrowser files (.ebm) with Markups (.ebx) can be created and attached directly in Work Request Manager. Thus users of any CADMATIC application, even those of 2D applications, can browse the targeted 3D model objects and Markups with eBrowser.
Note: File attachments are stored in the document repository of the COS server, and large amounts of attachment data can greatly increase the size of COS backups and slow down the backup procedure.
