Moving the view box
Views can be handled pending some commands, for example when you are routing a pipe. These commands are active only in your active view.
Move view box
Select Move box forward or press Alt+1. Move the view box of the active view forward along the view direction by one step. Step length is the same when arrow keys are used to move the cursor.
Select Move box backward or press Alt+2. Move the view box of the active view backward along the view direction by one step. Step length is the same when arrow keys are used to move the cursor.
Select Move viewpoint to current location or press Alt+3. Move the view box of the active view in the view direction so that the current cursor position will be in the view front plane. Only the depth coordinate (w) in the view gets changed, u and v coordinates will be the same as before. This is a handy command to make section views on the fly.
Set center of view box
Select Move box center to current location or press Alt+Shift+3. This moves the view box to current location so that its depth matches current location. This command “glides” the view box along the projection line.
Original situation:
Situation after Move box center to current plane command:
Select Move box center to current location or press Shift+Ctrl+3. The difference between these two commands (Alt+Shift+3 and Shift+Ctrl+3) is that the first one "glides" the view box along the projection line. The latter command may move the view box in all three directions.
Situation after Move box center to current location command:
Note: These commands can be applied only to work views. For views in drawings these commands are disabled.
Set depth of view box
Select Decrease view depth or press Shift+1. This decreases the view depth with amount of the default step, so the step length is the same as used when arrow keys are used to move the cursor. The viewpoint is not changed. See appdefaults to read more information about default step.
Select Increase view depth or press Shift+2. This increases the view depth with amount of the default step, so the step length is the same as used when arrow keys are used to move the cursor. The viewpoint is not changed.
Select Get view depth from current location or press Shift+3. This command moves the view box of the active view in view direction so that the current cursor position will be in the view front plane. Only the depth coordinate, w, in the view gets changed, u and v coordinates will be the same as before so 2D animators are not affected.
Note: These commands can be applied only to work views. For views in drawings these commands are disabled.
