Define 3D equivalences
Layout tab > 3D and view group > 3D functions menu >
3D symbol functions menu > Define 3D equivalences
With this function, you can define which 3D symbol matches which 2D symbol in a drawing. When the drawing is generated into 3D, the equivalent 3D symbols will be inserted above the 2D symbols according to the elevation info.
Do the following:
-
Select the symbols to edit. If you select several symbols, they need to be the same.
-
Press Enter. The 3D equivalence dialog opens.
-
Select the equivalent 3D symbol from the menu, from the drawing or from the file by clicking the corresponding button:
-
From menu – In the Symbol selection dialog, select the desired symbol in the Symbols section and click OK. For more information, see Symbol selection.
-
From drawing – Select the desired 3D symbol from the active drawing.
-
From file – Select the desired symbol file.
-
-
If you want to use your selections by default in the future, select Set as default. If selected, the equivalence will be stored into the settings file (so3dsymbol.ini), otherwise it will be stored into the 2D symbol's attribute ($3DSYMBOL$).
-
If you want to set the equivalence to all similar 2D symbols in the drawing, select Set to each similar 2D symbol in drawing.
-
If you want to set the defaults, click Defaults. You can also use the Default equivalences for 2D/3D symbols function to do this later, see Define default equivalences for 2D/3D symbols.
-
Click OK.
If necessary, you can restore the default equivalence by clicking Restore default.
