HATCH
With this function, you can draw a hatch for the desired part of the drawing, with the desired hatch pattern. You can also use the Bhatch command to draw an automatic hatch.
In this function, you can either define the hatch area by objects or by points. Defining the hatch area by objects works best in situations where you already have objects that border the area you want to hatch. If, for example, some bordering lines stretch beyond the desired node points, it would be best to use the point definition mode.
Do the following:

Enter the hatch pattern.

Enter pattern scale and angle.

Select how you want to define the hatch area:

Objects – Select the objects you want to hatch.

Points – Enter the first node point defining the hatch area, then enter as many node points as you want and finish by pressing Enter.

Defining a hole to a hatch
When using the point node point to define a hatch, you can define a hole to the hatch entering the keyword hole (or simply H). The program will then ask you to enter node points for the hole. You can enter as many holes as you like, by entering the keyword again.
Hatch patterns are defined in the cads.pat file, situated in the Application directory.
The hatch pattern scale is set when you draw a hatch. For example, a hatch pattern named Line includes a parallel line pattern 1 distance unit apart. If you draw a Line hatch in a scale of 100, the pattern will consist of parallel lines 100 distance units apart. In another patterns, however, similar parallel lines might be defined 3 distance units apart. Drawn this patterns with the scale of 100 would then result parallel lines 300 distance units apart.
The program starts to draw the hatch pattern from a base point. This base point can be changed by altering the HATCHBASE system variable.
If you define a hatch area by objects, the bordering objects can be lines, polylines, arcs, circles, texts, symbols or fills. When you use texts to define hatch area, the program will form a 'box' around the text, which will not be hatched.
