Manage translations
DB tool > Management tab > Translations group > Translations menu > Translation management
In Translation management, you can manage translations used in projects.
The global filter makes it possible to search for information using freely defined criteria, without taking wildcard characters * or ? into account. Furthermore, you can group and filter the information.
The items in different databases and functions related to them are divided on tabs:
- Standard databases holds the translations provided with the application which will be overwritten whenever the application is updated. You can copy translations from this tab to your own shared databases.

Open – Open the selected translation for viewing and editing.

Copy to shared – Create a copy of the selected translation to Shared databases. Edit the properties as necessary.

Add to project – Add the selected translations to the project. Alternatively, add a translation by double-clicking it. Project's translations are shown on the Project terms tab at the bottom part of the Translation management dialog.

Update selected – Update modifications made in the database to the respective translations in the project.

Shared databases holds user's own translations that can be shared and edited. If another user edits the data simultaneously, you can update the grid to show the changes by clicking the
button.

New – Add a new translation.

Edit – Edit the properties of an existing translation.

Copy to shared – Create a copy of the selected translation to Shared databases. Edit the properties as necessary.

Remove – Remove the selected translations.

Add to project – Add the selected translations to the project. Alternatively, add a translation by double-clicking it. Project's translations are shown on the Project terms tab at the bottom part of the Translation management dialog.

Update selected – Update modifications made in the database to the respective translations in the project.

Import – Import items from another project.

Other project enables importing information from another project database (EDBProject.sqlite or EDBProject.mdb). You can also move the selected rows to the shared databases by right-clicking and selecting Add to shared database.

Add to project – Add the selected translations to the project. Alternatively, add a translation by double-clicking it.

Select other project – Select another project database (EDBProject.sqlite or EDBProject.mdb) to use as data source.

The Packages section is located below the database grids. With packages, you can bundle multiple items together and then easily add them to the project at once.
You can add a package with all the items to the project by double-clicking it.

New – Add a new package. You can then add items into the packages by dragging them from the database grids.

Edit – Edit an existing package. You can remove rows from packages by right-clicking the row and selecting Remove package row.

Copy – Create a copy of the selected package. All the items in the package will also be copied.

Remove – Delete the selected package.

Import packages – Import data from other projects.
The bottom part of the Translation management dialog shows translations currently in the project and the default translations common to all projects.

New – Add a new translation to the project database.

Term – Enter the term you want to add a translation for.

Context type – Select a suitable context for the term. If you select Product information, you can also define a subtype.

Language – Select the source language.

Comment – If necessary, add a comment related to the term.

Translations grid – In the Translation column, enter the translated term for the desired languages.
You can also add a translation by selecting an existing product model, clicking Edit and then in the dialog clicking the
(Copy) button. -

Edit – Edit the properties of an existing translation. The changes will only be saved to the translation in the project.

Remove from project – Remove a translation not used in the project.

Import to project – Import items from another project.

Copy to defaults – Add the selected translations to the default database (EDBUser.sqlite or EDBUser.mdb). When a new project is created, translations will automatically be added to that project.

New – Add a new translation to the project database. You can also add a translation by selecting an existing translation, clicking Edit and then in the dialog clicking the
(Copy) button. -
Edit – Edit the properties of an existing translation. The changes will only be saved to the translation in the project.

Remove from project – Remove a translation not used in the project.

Import to project – Import items from another project.

Add to project – Add the selected translations to the project.
In Translation management, you can also translate texts as a mass.
