Wiring references

Electrical tab > Settings group >  Electrical menu > Project settings

In the Wiring references section, define the information shown for wiring references.

You can define the following settings separately for wires and cables:

  • Wiring reference special format

  • Field for references to document – Information to use in wiring references to another document.

    • Drawing number

    • Filename

    • Object ID

    • Electrical position

    • Location

    • Name 1–4

  • Show always document info

  • Show sheet/column – Define what information to show of the sheet/column:

    • None

    • Sheet number

    • Sheet number/Column

    • Column

  • Include row information – Define whether to include row information.

  • Show remote-end connection – Define whether to include connection information (e.g. X10:3) from the other end. You can select to show

    • ID with or without pin

    • Full ID with or without pin

    • Customer ID with or without pin

    • Electrical position + ID with or without pin

    • Electrical position + customer ID with or without pin

  • Remote-end description – Define whether to include description from the other end. If you select something else than Free text, you cannot edit the reference pair description fields in the Wiring reference dialog (see Draw wire and Draw cables).

Furthermore, you can define the following:

  • Text placement – Define where to place the reference text: above the arrow or next to the arrow.

  • Arrow direction

  • Unpaired cross-references – Define how unpaired references are handled:

    • Delete – References without a pair will be deleted.

    • Mark – A reference without a pair will be marked with a cross.
