Draw fills and irregular fills

Home tab > Draw group > (Hatch) > Fill, FILL

Home tab > Draw group > (Hatch) > Irregular fill, PFILL

A fill is a polygon with solid filling. Draw a fill object by indicating its corner points. You can also draw a fill with the Hatches function by selecting Draw solid only. See Draw hatch areas.

If you want to select a fill object for editing, select one of its edges.

Draw a fill

Do the following:

  1. Indicate the first corner of the area that you want to fill.

  2. Indicate the second corner.

  3. Indicate the third corner

Note that you have to indicate the corners in the correct order as shown in the image below.

If you enter the points in the incorrect order (such as clockwise around the rectangle), the fill intersects itself in the middle and the result is a bow-shaped fill object.

  4. Indicate the fourth corner.

Draw an irregular fill

Do the following:

  1. Indicate the first corner of the area.

  2. Indicate the next corner points clockwise around the area that you want to fill. Indicate at least three points.

  3. Finish drawing by pressing Enter.

The program draws the object as a hatch object. If you explode the object, the result is several triangular fill objects.
