Import PDF files
File > Import / export > Import PDF, IMPORTPDF |
With this function, you can show PDF content as part of a CAD drawing. You can import one page at a time.
Import PDF converts PDF file to tiff file and inserts it as an image object into drawing. There is no connection between drawing and PDF file after import and PDF file is not needed any more. Remember that sending drawing via email a generated tiff image file needs to be attached too.
Changing PDF file does not update image in the drawing. If PDF content needs to be updated it requires PDF to be imported again. In this case old image needs to be deleted manually. Because of this kind of behaviour Import PDF is recommended only when content does not change frequently for example Excel tables. For architectural drawings use PDF as a reference drawing.
Note: It is recommended that drawing is saved before import PDF. This ensures that generated tiff file is be located in drawing folder.
Do the following:
-
Select File > Import PDF.
-
Select the file to be imported.
-
Select whether to import the image as grayscale.
-

-

-
If necessary, use the Rotate button to rotate the document to the right position.
-
