Handle object groups
Tools tab > Group group > Groups menu, 'GROUP
Create object groups and handle them.
When you select an object that is in a group, all the objects in that group are selected if the group selection mode is on (value 1). If the mode is off (value 0) the objects are selected separately. The status of the group selection mode is stored in system variable GROUPSEL.
Create new groups
You can create object groups in two different methods. In the first method, you define the group first and then add the objects.
Do the following:

Select Groups menu > Group. The Group dialog opens.

Click New. The New group dialog opens.

Enter a name for the group.

Enter a description for the group.

If you want the program to select all the objects in the group when you select one of the objects, select Group selection. If you want to be able to select the objects individually, clear the selection.

Click OK. The program creates the group and adds it on the list.

Select the group.
-
Click Add objects.
-
Select the objects that you want to add to the group.
-
Confirm the selection by pressing Enter.
The program adds the objects to the group.
In the second method, you add the objects to the group first and then define the group.
Do the following:

Select Groups menu > Create group.

Select the objects that you want to add to the group.

Confirm the selection by pressing Enter.

Select Groups menu > Group. The Group dialog opens.

If the group that you created is not on the list, select List also unnamed groups.

Select the group that you created.
-
Click Edit. The New group dialog opens.

Enter a name for the group.
-
Enter a description for the group.

If you want the program to select all the objects in the group when you select one of the objects, select Group selection. If you want to be able to select the objects individually, clear the selection.

Click OK.
The program saves the name and the description for the group.
Identify groups
Select an object on the drawing, and the program tells you which group it belongs to.
Do the following:

In the Group dialog, select Pick group.

Select an object on the drawing. The Group dialog opens and the program highlights the group that the selected object belongs to and selects the group on the list.
If the object that you selected is not in any group, the program informs you of that.
Add and remove objects
Do the following:

In the Group dialog, select the group whose objects you want to edit. The program highlights the objects on the drawing.

Add objects to the group:

Click Add objects.
-
Select the objects that you want to add to the group.

Confirm the selection by pressing Enter.

Remove objects from the group:
-
Click Remove objects.
-
Select the objects that you want to remove from the group.
-
Confirm the selection by pressing Enter.

The program adds the objects to the group or removes them from the group.
Explode groups
Note that exploding a group is not the same as exploding objects. When you explode objects, the program divides them into individual, simple objects. When you explode a group, you remove the grouping from the objects so that they no longer belong in a group.
You can explode a group in two different methods. In the first method, explode a group in the Group dialog.
Do the following:

On the list, select the group that you want to explode. The program highlights the objects in the drawing.

Click Explode.
-
Click Yes.
The program explodes the group and removes it from the list.
In the second method, you use a specific group exploding function.
Do the following:

Select Groups menu > Ungroup.
-
Select the group that you want to explode.
The program explodes the group.
