Add printer drivers and printers
All printing devices require a device driver to work. Device driver is a program that translates the information coming from the application to information that the printer can understand. Because program uses the printing resources provided by the Windows operating system, you must first install the printer's Windows driver. Usually the driver comes with the printer. For more details, see the instructions provided with your printer.
After you have installed the device driver to Windows, you can add it into printing devices.
The program adds a printer that is defined as the default printer in Windows automatically when you start the program for the first time.

Default print configuration of a printer
It is useful to define default print settings (a print configuration) for a printer. The print configuration defines the default settings when you are printing to the printer. You can modify these settings and print style settings when printing, but the modified configuration is valid only until you close the program.
If you typically print on A4 paper, select the A4 paper as the default paper for the print configuration. This way, the printer always selects A4 as the paper size when you start printing. Select another paper type only if you want to print something on a different size of paper.
