Move
Edit > Manipulate > Move
Keyboard shortcut: s
Move the selected item(s) to another position. If you start this function when there are no items selected, select the item(s) you want to move first.
- Indicate base point: Press Enter to use the current mouse position as the base point. This step is skipped if there were item(s) selected when you started the function.
- Indicate distance and angle: Press Enter to use the current mouse position. The selected items are moved to the indicated position.

- Move Base Point – Move the current base point. The base point is the point from where the movement is applied.
- Horizontally Forced – Move the selected item(s) in the horizontal direction only. After switching to the Horizontally Forced mode this option will be replaced by the Vertically Forced mode.
- Vertically Forced – Move the selected items in the vertical direction only. Use the plus sign (+) to move the selected items upwards. Use the minus sign (-) to move the selected items downwards. After switching to the Vertically Forced mode this option will be replaced by the Free Distance and Angle mode.
- Free Distance and Angle – Indicate a relative distance and angle to the base point. After switching, this option will be replaced by the Horizontally Forced mode.
- Value – Enter a vector value (e100 or n100, for example), or just an number. In case you enter a number, the direction of the mouse pointer is used as the move direction. The entered value will also be used in the next sessions by default. After switching to the Value mode this option will be replaced by the Coordinates mode.
- Coordinates – Enter an absolute point. After switching to the Coordinates mode this option will be replaced by the Length and Angle mode.
