Create logistical selection menus, and manage the existing logistical selection menus. Logistical selection menus are menus that users can select from in various functions.

Note: The selection menu will always be shown before the report is created. The defined selection menus are also used with various production functions. It is important that the selection menu has a name that clearly reflects the selection criteria.

Selection Criteria List

Set the order in which the available selection criteria are presented in the selection criteria lists. You can also exclude selection criteria from the selection criteria list.

Lists the present logistical selection menus. Select New Selection to create a new logistical selection menu, or select an existing menu to modify it.

Displays the Selection Criteria Builder dialog, where the currently selected menu can be defined.

Remove Selection – Delete the selected selection menu. The selection menu is also deleted from the norms directory.

Creating selection menus

Select a menu from Selection Criteria in the Logistical Selection Menu dialog, and click Selection. The Selections Criteria Builder dialog opens.

First select the items that you want to include in the report from Logistical data fields, where all fields included in the logistical database layout are listed.

You can also select items from Derived data fields, where all fields that are not included in the logistical database layout, but which are determined (derived) from various other sources.

The selected items are moved to Selected Fields. The order of the items determines the order of the entry boxes in the selection menu. The first item in the list is placed on the left, the second item on the right, the third item on the left again, and so on.

  • Use MOVE UP and MOVE DOWN to move the currently selected field up or down in Selected Fields.

Selection by area – Enables selecting the parts whose logistical information has to be shown by the position of the parts. For example, it is possible to select only parts whose center of gravity is within a specified box.

Selections do not have a fixed content. Users can make selections on the basis of any logistical item in the database and several default values determined by the CADMATIC Hull software.

The items used as the basis for selection need not be included in the report itself.

A default value for a selection criterion can be set in a layout file, see Default selection criterion in the Managing Production Information Administrator's Guide for more information. The eventual set default value for a selection criterion will be put in the relevant entry box of the selection menu.

Saving a selection

Each selection menu must be saved before it can be used. Click Save in the Logistical Selection Menu dialog. The Save Selection dialog opens.

In case of an existing selection menu that has been modified, the name of the menu will be filled in automatically. You can change the name by typing in the new name. You can also select an existing name from the Available Selections list.
