Weld Label Models
Presentation > Weld Labels > Weld Label Models
Define which weld label models are used in Weld Labeling in the 3D-Contek and Shell applications.
You can define which weld label model is used for a specific bevel type, or a specific combination of the bevel type and weld method. This way, it is possible to use a different weld label for different bevel types, or combinations of the bevel type and weld method.
Up to 18 weld labels can be defined here. If there is a matching weld label model for each of the three types of weld label (dimension, number, text), it is possible to use 54 different weld labels.
Weld label model files must be placed in <project>\norms\cvar\weld. CADMATIC Hull default norms contain several example weld label models. You can copy these into your project norms folder, and then modify them to fit your specific requirements. If you want to start using the provided weld label models, you must also copy the weldlabel.ins file from the default norms into your project norms.
Note: The system applies weld label models for weld line labels automatically as defined here. In situations for which there is no definition, the default weld label model weldsymbol is used. The default model will be also be used if the defined weld label model file is not found in <project>\norms\cvar\weld.
Defining weld labels
Weld labels are defined by associating weld label models with two weld attributes: bevel type and weld method. Weld method is optional and can be left undefined.
Bevel type.Weld method is a string that consists of the standard bevel type number (1-9) and the weld method number (1-999), separated by a point: <type>.<method>. For example, 2.10. method is optional.
Note: If the bevel type number is set to zero (0), the value is displayed as Weld Lines instead of zero when the Weld Label Models dialog is opened again.
- Weld method numbers are defined in System Management > Construction > Welds/Bevels > Weld Codes > Weld Codes, Second Part, and stored in <project>\norms\cvar\weld\main2.dat.
Weld label model is one of the weld label models located in <project>\norms\cvar\weld.

The definitions are stored in <project>\norms\cvar\weld\weldlabel.ins.
