Markings for Outfitting Parts on Coded Plate
Markings for outfitting parts can be included on coded plates. The markings consist of the edge lines of the outfitting part and a marking text.
Consider the following:
-
The geometry of the outfitting part must be defined with sweeps. If the part has no sweeps, Hull cannot process the marking data, and shows a warning about this in the Message Window.
-
Hull can only process 10 sweeps in a part. If the part contains more than 10 sweeps, only the first 10 sweeps are processed. A warning is shown about this in the Message Window.
Prerequistes for Including Outfitting Markings
There are prerequisites both on the Outfitting (Plant Modeller) side and the Hull application side that must be met before outfitting markings can be included on coded plates.
Prerequisites on the Outfitting Side
The Marking to hull plate attribute must be assigned to those parts for which markings are needed.
In CADMATIC Outfitting, the Marking to hull plate attribute can be added to parts with the Hull Markings function which is located on the Tools tab in the Manage group. You can use this function to assign the hull marking attribute with a given value to multiple objects at the same time.
Tip: You can also assign the attribute one part at a time using either the Tools > Attributes > Edit function, or the property pane of the part. The property pane can be opened from the Home tab, the Show group, Panes > Property Pane. To assign the Marking to hull plate attribute to the part, go to the Basic information tab, Attributes section.
The Marking to hull plate attribute can be added to the following object types. This means markings can only be included for these object types.
-
Structural parts
-
Beams, except bent beams
-
Plates, including doubler plates
-
-
Equipment objects
-
Standard components
Note: The string entered as the value of the Marking to hull plate attribute will be shown as the marking text (description) of the part on the coded plate. The placement of the text is along the marking line.
Prerequisites on the Hull Side
The Max. Distance Doubler – Main Plate setting in System Management > Production > Plate Cutting Data > Marking > Settings controls whether outfitting parts are marked on the coded plate or not.
The setting value defines the maximum allowed distance between the outfitting part and the plate. When the distance between the outfitting part and the plate is bigger than the set value, there will be no marking for the outfitting part on the coded plate.
With the default value of −1 there will be no marking regardless of the distance.
With the value of 0 (zero), the outfitting part must be placed on the plate without any gap, or there will be no marking.
