Managing the import of XML nest data

To be able to import information about the nest status of plates from the nesting database using the 3D-Contek function Hull > Import > XML Nest Data, the following steps should be carried out first:

• Get files CadmaticExport.exe and CadmaticExport.ini from AlmaCAM.
• Place the files in the norms\cvar\almacam folder of the active project.
• Get the .xml file containing the parts to be imported to CADMATIC Hull.

The .exe file has to be run in command line interface. The command line should provide the name of a block to export as the first argument, in brackets if the name contains spaces. From this name, parts of the block in AlmaCAM are listed, and information about the parts, such as the nestings containing those parts and NC file links to those nestings, are gathered.

The [L] LogRecNr definition is mandatory in getting nest information back into the CADMATIC Hull system. The setting for this can be found in the System Management application Production > Plate Cutting Data > DXF Output > Nesting Information.
