Colour filters

Note: Paragraphs marked with an asterisk (*) only apply to Hull Viewer in combination with CADMATIC Hull. These functions are not available in the standalone version which is also referred to as Work Preparation Manager (WPM).

The colour of the models in Hull Viewer depend on the pen number they have. The models created by CADMATIC Hull have four pen numbers stored in them:

  • Default pen
  • Thickness pen
  • Material pen
  • Orientation pen

In Hull Viewer, you can select a colour filter. This means that you choose which of the four pens is used for presentation. Since the number of the pens can be coupled to the thickness, material or orientation of the part, selecting a filter will give a clear graphical presentation of the selected property. For every filter, the pen colours can be set differently (see Colours).

The system administrator needs to define configuration files before the user can apply a logistical color filter. For more information on these configuration files, see Logistical Color Filter Rules.

Next to these 5 filters, the colour of the parts can also be defined by the nest status of the part. This nest status is not stored inside the model, but queried from the database during run time.

There are 5 different states:

  1. Not imported (the part is not known in the nest application)
  2. Imported (the part is imported in the nest application)
  3. Nested (the part has already been nested)
  4. Cut data (cut data has been generated)
  5. Cut (the part has been cut)

* For coupling part properties to pen numbers, go to System Management > Extra > Pen Numbers.

In Hull Viewer, the pen filter can be selected from the menu or by clicking a toolbar button as follows:

  • No filter – Select Settings > Colour filter > No filter, or click
  • Thickness filter – Select Settings > Colour filter > Thickness or click
  • Material filter – Select Settings > Colour filter > Material, or click
  • Orientation – Select Settings > Colour filter > Orientation, or click
  • Nest status – Select Settings > Colour filter > Nest status, or click
