Defining Grids in Reference Planes

Defining grids in reference planes is a functionality of the arbitrary grid type and can only be done in a block that belongs to a reference surface group. To define a grid in reference plane, the drawing that features the virtual plate of the reference plane in plan view must be open in the graphical window.

Do the following:

  1.  Start Grid Manager.

  2. The drawing must be open in the background.

  3.  Define the origin of the grid: Click the current control button next to the Origin field to the coordinates of the current control position are used. You can use Snap Keys to change the current control position in the graphical window while keeping the Grid Manager dialog open. The origin point is represented by an arrow in the graphical window.

  4. Define the direction of the grid: Click the mouse pointer button next to the Direction field and then indicate the reference lines in the graphical window. Any line in the drawing can be used as a reference line. The angle of the arrow changes in according the indicated direction of the grid.

  5.  Select the corresponding reference plane from the Ref. surface list. The reference plane must be present in the shape database in to appear in the drop-down menu.
