Gaskets for duct parts

The project administrator can configure Plant Modeller to automatically insert a gasket into every flange or frame joint of duct parts. This setup enables the gasket materials to be listed on the Connections tab of the Properties pane and included in material listings. The gasket information can also be accessed via CADMATIC Web API queries. The duct gaskets themselves are not modeled in 3D, but the gasket gap can be shown in the 3D model and in drawings.

Do the following:

  1. Create a dimension table to define the dimensions of the duct gasket.

  2. Create a catalog part to define the material of the gasket. The catalog part references the dimension table created in the previous step. For general information, see Catalog Parts.

  3. Create a duct part design rule to define the duct sizes that use a specific type of gasket. The duct part design rule references the catalog part created in the previous step. For details, see Duct part design rules for gaskets.

  4. Update the ducting specification.

  5. To visualize the gasket gaps, enable the shared project setting File > Options > Shared Settings > Ducting > Routing > Leave gasket gaps.
  6. Route the required duct parts in the 3D model.

  7. Generate a material listing, using for example the 'MatSum' ICGD of the CADMATIC example project.
