Create New Drawing

You can create a new drawing.

Prerequisites

  • Project administrator has defined a drawing sheet, drawing header attributes, line attribute styles, and layer styles, and know which style configuration you are expected to use to create a specific kind of drawing.

  • All designers in the project have updated their changes to COS.

Do the following:

  1. On the Documents tab, click Drawings. The Document browser opens.

  2. Select All Drawings and click New. The Create New Drawing dialog opens.

  3. Enter a name for the drawing, using a maximum of 115 characters.

  4. Select an ICGD (drawing sheet with or without bill of material) from the Recent field or by clicking Browse.

  5. Select attributes for the drawing and enter values for them. Some fields in the title box get their values from these attributes.

  6. Click OK. The empty document is created and listed in the document browser.

  7. Open the new drawing by double-clicking it or by selecting Edit from the context menu. The Document editor opens.

  8. If this is the first drawing in the Plant Modeller area, define settings for Associative annotations.

  9. Create drawing views that show the required components. You can assign one of the Line Attribute Styles to a view to override the line attributes defined for the view.

  10. Assign drawing views to the pages of the document. Set a suitable scale for each view.

  11. Annotate the pages and the views.

  12. Save the document.

  13. Output drawings and lists.

  14. Check in the drawing.
