Move to nearest connection (Q)
This command moves the current location to the connection point, beam, cable tray end point, or Hull construction part's hole node that is nearest to the digitized point. This shortcut key does not pick information about the connection point, so System, size and direction must be defined.
This command checks only points that belong to objects close enough to the digitized point. "Close enough" means that the so-called hit box must intersect with the minimum bounding box of the object.
Hit box is a cube that is oriented so that its edges are parallel to the X, Y and Z axes. The center point of the cube is located at the digitized point. The length of the side is four times the hit tolerance of objects. The default his distance is 400 mm.
The picture below shows the difference between the shortcut keys Q, P and J. While P and J are real connecting commands that connect the new pipe to an existing one, with or without a seam, Q only snaps to the connection point.
