Importing 3D spaces
You can use the 3D-Import Manager tool, available from Model > Content > Imports, to import objects of type "3D Space" from a file.
3D space type and name
On the General tab of the import options, you must select the objects in the file to be imported as 3D spaces, and then define what is the type of the 3D spaces being imported and from which attribute to take the 3D space name, as shown below.
-
Type of 3Dspace lists the 3D space types defined in Containment setup. The chosen type will be used for all objects created from the source data file.
Note: The type cannot be changed once the data file has been imported.
-
Name from attribute lists the attributes found in the source data file. The value of the chosen attribute will be used to name the objects created from the source data file.
The type and name assigned in the import can be seen, for example, in the Object properties dialog, as shown below.
Attribute mapping
With some file types, the import manager can scan the data file for attributes. If attributes are found, on the Attributes tab of the import manager you can map an imported attribute to a COS attribute.
In the example below, an imported attribute "ACODE" is mapped to the COS attribute "Area Code".
All mapped attributes are available via Object properties and they are also inherited by the objects that the 3D spaces contain.
