Create a new drawing

You can create a new Plant Modeller drawing as described below.

Prerequisites

  • ICGD that defines which drawing sheet to use and the content of the (optional) bill of materials and listings. In this example we use "Example_A1" which can be found in the example project.

Do the following:

  1. In Plant Modeller, on the Documents tab, click Drawings. The Manage Drawings dialog opens; for more information on this dialog, seeDocument browser.

  2. Select New > Drawing. The Create New Drawing dialog opens.

  3. Name – Enter the document name to be displayed in Plant Modeller.

  4. ICGD – Click Browse, select Example_A1, and click OK.

  5. The document has one title block attribute, Main Scale, by default. Add two other attributes: click Select Attributes, select Drawing Title and Drawn by from the list, and click OK.

  6. In the Attributes pane, specify the attribute values:

    • Main Scale – Set the value to 1:50.

Note: This scale value is only used as information in the title block, it does not affect the scale of the drawing views.

    • Drawing Title – Enter the document name to be displayed in the title block.

    • Drawn by – Enter your name or initials.

Tip: You can edit the attribute values later, as described in Edit drawing header data.

  7. Click OK. The new document is listed in the Manage Drawings dialog.

  8. You can now open the document for editing, as described in Open the drawing.
