Change layer status
With the LAYEROBJ command, you can change the status of the layer of the selected object via the command line.
Do the following:

Enter LAYEROBJ on the command line.

Enter one of the following keywords:

Set – Set the layer of the selected object as the current layer.

Off – Turn the layer of the selected object off.

On – Turn the layer of the selected object on. The program turns all layers on for the duration of the function so that you can select the object.

Lock – Lock the layer of the selected object.

Unlock – Unlock the layer of the selected object.

Freeze – Freeze the layer of the selected object. You can use this function only for layouts.

Thaw – Thaw the layer of the selected object. The program thaws all layers for the duration of the function so that you can select the object. You can use this function only for layouts.

Browse – Open a text menu that allows you to make multiple edits on different objects.

Browse text menu can also be opened by selecting Home tab > Layers group > Show layer objects
