Recalculate
Home > Recalculate
Select from the following functions:
Hull Lines – Re-evaluates hull lines and updates them in the active drawing and in the hull line database.
Construction Parts – Recalculate the selected construction parts.
All Construction Parts – Recalculate all shell plates of the active block in one action. Optionally, also the inner construction can be included in the recalculation.
Recalculating hull lines
Hull lines can be recalculated when
-
The hull lines have been created with the Insert Hull Line function. For example, hull lines in external shape databases (i.e. knuckles, angled curves) cannot be recalculated with this function.
-
The hull line range subsets containing the hull lines to be recalculated are checked out.
In the graphical window, select the hull lines that you want to recalculate. Select the hull lines to recalculate. Hull lines You can also selected ione or more hull lines from the list of available hull lines.
-
Use options Select and Exclude to either include or exclude items from the selection when you indicate them in the graphical window.
All – Select all lines that are visible in the active view and fall within the available hull line ranges.
-
Reverse – Select all currently unselected lines that are visible in the active view and fall within the available hull line ranges.
-
Highlight – Highlight the selected lines in the graphical window, provided that the lines are visible in the active view. For example, if a line was selected in the list of available hull lines, it is possible that the line is not visible in the active view.
-
Overview of hull lines – Displays a list of available hull lines, and allows multiple lines to be removed in one action. The list contains all hull lines that have been created using the Insert Hull Line function, and belong to subsets that are checked out. The lines are grouped by hull group number and line type, and are identified by their line key number. Possible line types are seams, butts, and dimension lines.
Click OK to recalculate the selected hull lines.
Recalculating construction parts
In the graphical window, select the construction items that you want to recalculate.
-
Use options Select and Exclude to either include or exclude items from the selection when you indicate them in the graphical window.
-
All selects all the construction items in the drawing in one go.
-
Reverse deselects the currently selected construction items, and selects the currently unselected construction items.
-
Highlight highlights the currently selected items in the graphical window.
You can use the drop-down menu to limit your selection to a specific construction items. Only items of the selected type can be selected.
You can also select the construction items in Hull Viewer or by logistical selection.
-
For Hull Viewer selection, select Hull Viewer selection. Hull Viewer opens. See Hull Viewer selection.
-
For logistical selection, select Logistical selection. The Select parts for recalculating dialog opens. Select the selection criterion, and then in the next dialog define your selection. See Logistical selection.
Unchanged construction parts are not calculated by default. Select Update unchanged 3D models to recalculate also the unchanged construction parts. This might be necessary in situations where settings affecting the weight values of parts have been changed.
Note: The actual area is used in recalculation. Use caution in selecting parts which are partly outside the actual area, because the recalculation results may be affected. This may happen when calculating shell frames on a hull line that has more than one intersection with its borders, for example.
Click OK to perform the recalculation.
Recalculating all construction parts
Block area shows the current block's area limits. You can extend the area within which parts are recalculated by entering the extension values in Extension block area you can define an extension to the block area.
Available options:
-
Include inner construction – When selected, also inner construction, including templates, is included in the recalculation. Otherwise only shell plates are recalculated.
-
Update also not geometrically changed 3D models – When selected, also the unchanged construction parts are recalculated.
All construction parts need to be recalculated in situations where a new hull shape has been placed in the project, for example. This is because the plates that are related to the hull must be recalculated. Recalculation of all parts is necessary also when settings affecting the weight values of parts have been changed.
