(High Level) Topology
Due to built-in structural topology in CADMATIC Hull, modifications to the structural design of a vessel can be made with ease. Relations can be used when modeling construction items. Construction items can be related to each other, and so topological dependencies created between them.
The following relations can be used to determine the topology of a construction item, in order of the level of topology:
- Fixed horizontal and vertical limitations
- Self-drawn 2D lines and arcs
- Other construction items
- Hull shape
- High level topology items
Topological construction items are updated (recalculated) automatically when a related item is changed. When the hull shape and high level topology items are changed, construction items must be recalculated manually with one of the Recalculate functions to make them adapt to the new situation.
High level topology
High level topology is convenient especially in the basic design phase of a project to define and gain full control over the basic structural layout of a vessel. The purpose of high level topology is great flexibility; keeping the defined layout adjustable even into later phases of the project.
