Situation A
This topic describes the actions in a situation when shifting blocks in case of lengthening of a ship where:
-
the position of the construction in the ship changes
-
the shape at the new position remains the same
-
new frame numbers are not added, but the frames past the lengthening position are shifted with the size of lengthening.
For information on the Shift Block dialog options, see Shift Block.
Do the following:
- Switch to the block with Home > Open.
- Open the Tools > Shift Block function. By default, the Shift direction is Length.
- Select Adjust fixed values and enter the Shift value in length units (mm/inch).
- Select Adjust frame/grid numbers and enter a zero (0) or FR0 as the Shift value (in grid).
- Click OK and all constructions in the block will be shifted.
- Open all perpendicular views in Tools > Settings > More Settings > Drawing Management and change the origin of the views that have the origin outside the area where the hull shape lengthening takes place.
Note: Recalculating the construction, modifying drawing properties, and/or recalculating views is not necessary in this situation. Only the shifted blocks that have relations to the construction of not shifted blocks need to be checked and possibly modified to get new relations. This also applies to the blocks that were not shifted but have relations to blocks which were.
- Before exiting the block, accept the values for the changed area.
