Situation B
This topic describes the actions in a situation when shifting blocks in case of lengthening a ship where:
-
the position of the construction in the ship changes
-
the shape at the new position remains the same
-
new frame numbers are added in the new lengthening part.
For information on the Shift Block dialog options, see Shift Block.
Do the following:
- Switch to the block with Home > Open.
- Open the Tools > Shift Block function. By default, the Shift direction is Length.
- Select Adjust fixed values and enter the Shift value in length units (mm/inch).
- Select Adjust frame/grid numbers and enter the number of frames as the Shift value (in grid).
- Click OK and all constructions in the block will be shifted.
- Open all frame views in Tools > Settings > More Settings > Drawing Management and change the Length values of the view planes.
- Open all side and top views in Drawing Management and change the Origin, and the Min. Length and Max. Length values of the various area settings.
- Open all perpendicular views in Drawing Management and change the Length values of the view planes, the Origin, and the Min. Length and Max. Length values of the various area settings.
Note: Recalculating construction is not necessary in this situation. Only the shifted blocks that have relations to the construction of not shifted blocks need to be checked and possibly modified to get new relations. This also applies to the blocks that were not shifted but have relations to blocks which were.
- Before exiting the block, accept the values for the changed area.
