Standard Components

Normally, standard components are stored in the library database. In custom project-specific cases, they can be stored in the project database instead. When a designer inserts a standard component such as a valve or a T-piece from the piping specification to the model, the component requires the following settings:

• Isometric drawing symbol that represents the component in isometric drawings.
• GDL geometry that specifies the building instructions for the (parametric) component model.
• Dimension table that contains the parameter values of the GDL model.
• Catalog part that contains the component's data for listings.
• Piping specification that includes the component.
