Compare objects
You can use the Compare Objects tool to check if there are differences between model objects and the associated integration objects.
Note: Differences that relate to cable objects can only be detected in the Compare tool of the Cable Manager dialog—see Compare.
Do the following:
-
On the Tools tab, in the External Data group, select Manage > Compare objects. The Resolve Differences Between Model and Integration Objects dialog opens.
-
You can use the filters at the top to select what to show in the dialog.
-
Import Source – Select whether to show P&ID objects, External (EDM) data objects, and Electrical data objects.
-
System – Select whether to show a particular System or all of them.
-
Object Type – Select which object types to show: Equipment, Standard Component, Duct.
-
Show only objects checked out to me – Select this option to show only objects that are checked out to you.
-
Search – Enter a filter string to filter the object list by the values of the visible columns.
-
-
You can use the command buttons on the right to view information about the objects.
-
Go to Location & Edit – Closes the Resolve Differences… dialog and shows a rubber band line between the cursor and the model object.
-
Query Model Object – Opens the Object properties dialog for viewing information about the model object.
-
Browse Other Component – Shows the component defined in the external data.
-
Browse Model Component – Shows the component defined in the 3D model.
-
-
To resolve the problems, select one or more objects from the list and click Resolve Differences. For example, if the problem is that an electrical device has a rotation difference, resolving the difference means restoring the rotation defined in CADMATIC Electrical.
If the specified differences cannot be automatically resolved, a dialog opens listing the errors. In this case, click Done and try to resolve those problem outside this tool.
-
When you have resolved all the problems that can be resolved, click Done.
