Manage IFC property definitions

DB tool > Management tab >  IFC properties menu > IFC property definitions

Property is an individual piece of information that belongs to one or more property sets to which Electrical sets specific values in IFC export. The property definitions include information about the property data type and name as well as information about the Electrical information the property is linked to. If the Electrical value is empty or there are no defined data fields, an empty value will be exported whenever the property has been defined as to be exported.

The global filter makes it possible to search for information using freely defined criteria, without taking wildcard characters * or ? into account. Furthermore, you can group and filter the information.

The items in different databases and functions related to them are divided on tabs:

  • Standard databases holds the default property definitions provided with the application which will be overwritten whenever the application is updated. You can copy property definitions from this tab to your own shared databases.
  • Shared databases holds user's own property definitions that can be shared and edited. If another user edits the data simultaneously, you can update the grid to show the changes by clicking the button.

  • The Other project tab enables importing property definitions from another project database (EDBProject.sqlite or EDBProject.mdb).

The bottom part of the IFC property definition management dialog shows property definitions currently in the project and the default property definitions common to all projects:
