Units

In CADMATIC Draw lengths and angles can be entered and displayed in many different formats depending on the need. Linear and angle units used in the drawing are set in coordinate settings.

Linear units

Scientific – Values are displayed as exponents. Useful when working with very small or large numbers. For example 1000 is displayed as 1.00E+03 and 0,001 as 1.00E-3.

Decimal – Values are displayed as decimals, for example 33.333. Number of decimals displayed is set using LUPREC system variable.

Engineering – Values are displayed as feet and inches. Partial inches are displayed as decimals, for example 2'-10,25".

Tip: Enter into command line as feet'inches.decimals. For example 2'10.25

Architectural – Values are displayed as feet and inches. Partial inches are displayed as fractions. For example 2'-10 1/4"

Tip: Enter into command line as feet'inches-fractions. For example 2'10-1/4

Fractional – Values are displayed as fractions. For example 33 1/3.

Angular units

Degrees – Angles are displayed as degrees, for example 45.6°.

Radians – Angles are displayed as radians. 1 radian = 360°/2π ≈ 57,296°.

Grads – Angles are displayed as grads. 1 grad = 360°/400 = 0.9°.

Deg/Min/Sec – Angles are displayed as degrees, minutes and seconds. Minute is one sixtieth of a degree. Second in turn is one sixtieth of a minute. For example. 54° 32' 10''.

Note: Deg/Min/Sec format can only be used to display angle dimensions.

Linear and angular units used by dimension styles can be edited through dimension styles settings.
