Profile Cutting List

The profile cutting list contains information that is needed for cutting the profiles. It presents the lengths to which the profiles should be cut and the profile end type information, together with measurement lines, description, bevel information, and part number.

A profile cutting list can be of help especially with non-complex and straight profiles. The more complex profiles get a special marker to indicate that a profile sketch for that profile is required for the production

To generate this list, use the Production > Production > Production Information function. See The Create Production Information function for more information.

A Report Layout determines which profile data will be presented on the list. Generally speaking, the list will include the following items:

  • Profile type and dimensions
  • Identification number
  • Quantity
  • Length
  • Mounting lines
  • Direction
  • End type data
  • Bevel type
  • Sketch notification
  • General information like date, section number, yard name or number, and so on.

The Profile list function in the Create Production Information function generates a list that contains all the product information for each profile, except for bent shell frames. The list is sorted by profile type and part number in ascending order. If the Sort on option was selected, identical parts are shown as one entry, and the number column shows the quantity of identical parts.

The list also shows the assembly lines, which indicate where the profile is located in the ship or on the connected plate. A "recognition word" marker (one or more characters long) may be added to mark the profiles for which a profile sketch should be made. This marker can be defined with the Production > Report/List Settings > Create Sketch setting in the System Management application.

The profile list is sorted by profile type because it is not always simple to find a corresponding profile part number. For this reason there are page numbers on the report if the Mould number field is used in the report layout.

Output Format

The profile list can be output in RTF or CSV format. For more information, see Report Output Formats.

Profile List Sketch

No physical control of the profiles is possible through the profile cutting list. This is not important if the end type and the way of production is fully standardized throughout the production process. However this is not always the case. For that reason a special list which contains a picture of the profile can be made. This is the Profile list sketch. the Profile list sketch contains the same information as the Profile cutting list, but it is presented using a predefined template. No cutouts or holes are included in the Profile sketch list. Cutouts and holes items are only present in the Profile sketch. For more information, see Report Layout.
