Part Symbol

A part symbol can contain a lot of information. Sometimes it is necessary to detect the text and lines that make up the part symbol, and in particular the text that will contain the part number (using the text field %Part%, see Administrator's Guides > Managing Production Information > Managing Additional Production Information > Part Labels > Text Fields). Therefore, it is compulsory to assign the value partsymbol to Eagle attribute 10 for each element that makes up the part number. This information is, for example, used by the Part Symbol setting in Tools > Settings > More Settings > Block Properties, which can be used to enable or disable the placement of the part symbol when creating new part labels. The same information is also used to find the annotation that contains the part number, in order to create a link when publishing to eShare.

Tip: In System Management > Drawings > Layer Definition > Layers, define a layer called partsymbol and use the Line Style toolbar to set the layer of the appropriate part label items to this layer.
