Inserting weld lines manually
Weld lines will be generated automatically or by using the Bevel Generator. However, some types of connection require more attention from the user to ensure a proper weld connection is created.
Weld lines must be defined manually in situations like the following:
-
Any connection requiring special treatment from the user.
-
A flange end is welded to the plane of a plate.
-
A knuckle between two plates is welded to the plane of a third plate, or to any location where the user wishes to manually define a specific weld line.
-
The contour of a bracket related to a shell plate stretches over two or more shell plates or to a hull line, and welds are needed for those bracket contour segments that do not run along the related (main) shell plate. The system can automatically create bevels and the associated weld lines only to the contour segment that goes along the related shell plate (provided that the bracket type file contains a W line).
Note: The plane on which the weld lines are created is always the actual drawing plane.
