Preparing Hull Data

Metadata in sheets comes from the title fields and the revision table, and both of these must be updated in the (active) norms of the project. In order for the new projects to receive the correct versions of the files, the same updates should be done in the Hullcentre norms, either manually or in System Management > Projects > Copy Norms To Clientdirectory.

Prerequisites

  • CADMATIC Hull has been installed. See Installation and licensing.
  • The CADMATIC desktop (the Outfitting tool) has been installed. See CADMATIC Plant/Outfitting Online Help > Administrating CADMATIC > Installation.
  • The Hull project has been distributed. See Distributing Projects.

Updating the Revision Table Attributes in %NCGNORMS%/change.cmd

Important: This update needs to be done for each set of norms in each Hull project that should be integrated with eShare.

The revision table in the sheet model is created by the change.cmd file in the active norms folder. The default macro creates a revision, date, name, and description annotation.

This file must be updated according to the following rules:

  • The revision annotation is compulsory, and must include the following Eagle attributes:

    • Annotation text – name of the revision

    • Attribute 2 – name of the revision

    • Attribute 3 – user-defined name, Revision by default

    • Attribute 4revisiontable

    • Attribute 5revision

  • Attributes 3, 4 and 5 are new, and the change.cmd macro must be updated so that these attributes are created.

  • Other annotations are optional, and must include at least the following Eagle attributes:

    • Annotation text – the value of the property

    • Attribute 2 – name of the revision

    • Attribute 3 – name of the optional property

    • Attribute 4revisiontable

  • Attributes 3 and 4 are new, and the change.cmd macro must be updated so that these attributes are created.

If you have not made any customizations to the change.cmd file, you can replace that file with the new file in the standard norms from the release 2020T3 onwards.

Besides the annotations that make up the revision table, the same macro also determines the names of the revisions. These names must match the revision table in COS. See Matching the Revision Tables in Hull and Outfitting.

Updating Title Fields in %NCGNORMS%/titlefield*.*

The title field model file contains the design of the title field. All fields that appear in the title field will be sent to eShare as sheet metadata. The file needs to be updated so that the name of each field is added to the model file, as attribute 2 of each annotation text.

Important: This update needs to be done in each project to be integrated with eShare, and for each layout configuration to be used for publishing.

Do the following:

  1. In System Management, select Drawings > Sheet Drawings > Titlefield Layout.

  2. Make any random change, then change it back to how it was so that Save becomes enabled.

  3. Click Save. The new attribute is added to each annotation in the title field model file.

Updating Part Symbol Models in %NCGNORMS%/logistics

If your project is using part symbols from the standard norms, you need to update the following files:

  • %NCGNORMS%/logistics/ps_l_shplsymbol.mod

  • %NCGNORMS%/logistics/ps_s_shplsymbol.mod

  • %NCGNORMS%/logistics/ps_t_shplsymbol.mod

You can update them from the standard norms, or you can assign Eagle attribute 10 with the value partsymbol to the text and lines that form the symbol.
