The preview lets you examine the print before sending it to the printer. The paper layout, line widths and colors can be checked in preview. You can also copy the preview picture to the Windows clipboard () or save it in an bmp file ().
The partial preview shows how the selected print area will fit to the selected sheet.
You can also print drawings using the Windows drag-and-drop feature. This means that you grab hold of a drawing icon, for example in Windows Explorer, by clicking and holding the left mouse button on the drawing icon, and then dragging and dropping it on the printer icon. The program will print the drawing by its drawing limits using the default printer definition. You can also print a drawing by selecting a drawing icon, opening a popup menu by right-clicking and selecting Print from the menu.
Print to file
Select this option if you want to print to a print file or a PDF file. Enter the name of the print file in the field. You can select the print folder by clicking the button next to the field. The program will automatically add the .plt or .pdf extension. If no print directory has been defined, the program will print to the directory defined in the file settings. If no print directory has been defined, the program will print to the User files directory.
PLT and PDF prints paper size
Paper size is selected the same
way as if printing to paper. If the print area is smaller than the selected paper
size, the PLT driver will automatically remove the empty trailers. If
it does not work, either the driver is not capable of doing that (Windows
driver needs to be updated) or the automatic cutter is switched off in
the Windows printer settings. By default, empty trailers are not removed from
PDF files. Empty trailers can be removed by selecting Remove empty trailers from PDF print
in the Plot dialog.
Plot preview does not remove
empty trailers.
