Release notes 2024

The following term changes have been applied:

• In Schematics, the term cable combing has been replaced with cable termination.

• In Layout, the term fluorescent light has been replaced with linear light.

• In Layout, the term raceway has been replaced with cableway.

• In Layout, the term package symbol has been replaced with symbol group.

• In Cabinet Layout, the term race-way has been replaced with duct.

• In the project tree:

  • Distribution boards and groups has been replaced with Distribution boards and feeders.

  • Floors and spaces has been replaced with Storeys and spaces.

• In DB Tool, the Reports function now consistently talks about reports instead of lists, for example:

  • List options is now Report options.

  • Create lists is now Create reports.

  • Create separate lists from groups is now Create separate reports from groups.

• In DB Tool, terms related to space functions have been changed as follows:

  • Space number > Space ID

  • Number text > Space number

  • Flat > Apartment

Two new date formats, dd-mm-yyyy and d/m/yyyy, have been added to the Date format (default) menu options in the Common section.

In the Common, symbols section, the new Mark 'To be deleted' cables into the drawing option allows the user to select whether to show the cables marked as to be deleted in the drawing.

In the Documents project tree, it is now possible to close drawings via the project tree by right-clicking and selecting Close drawing.

• If you select to close the current document, the application and the drawing are changed.

• If you select to close a drawing other than the current one, the application will not be changed.

Some of the drawing types have been renamed to better indicate the significance of the drawing type versus application; the drawing type designates what can be done with that application. The main changes are the following:

• There is a new toolset called Single-line that covers the single-line functions that were previously in the Schematics application. In addition, the Distribution Board application has been incorporated into Single-line as its own toolset.

• The document type associated with the Schematics application has been renamed to Multi-line. You can create all types of multi-line documents, such as connection diagrams, termination diagrams, and schematic style diagrams, with it.

Due to the changes mentioned above, the Start a new Electrical drawing dialog has been renewed:

• You can open the function by selecting Electrical tab > Documents group > New.

• The different drawing types are now grouped based on the application.

• The new Single-line application drawing types, Single-line diagram and Load diagram, are grouped under Single-line. Furthermore, the former Distribution Board Schema drawing type has been renamed as Distribution board (table), and it is also located under Single-line.

• The Layout application drawing types have been renamed: the former Layout drawing type is now Arrangement, and the former Layout, Schema drawing type is now Arrangement (not in scale).

• The former Schematics application drawing type Schema has been renamed as Multi-line diagram.

You can now draw a revision cloud. The Cloud function is available on the Electrical tab, in the Revisions group.

In the Symbols window, there is a new tab with the icon. On this tab, you can select another drawing type whose symbols you want to show in the dialog temporarily. In an arrangement drawing, for example, you can select to show symbols from the Schematics application drawing type.

This setting will be valid for as long as you have the Symbols window open. Once you close the window and open it again, symbols will again be shown based on the current drawing type.

In the Symbols window, it is now possible to filter the search results. You can click the button next to the search field to only show the symbols matching your search criteria. Filtering will be in use until you click the button again.

The following symbol editing functions are now available in the Symbols window:

• Delete symbol

• Move symbol

• Move symbol and stretch wiring (not in Cabinet Layout)

• Copy symbol

• Edit symbol

• Change symbol (not in Cabinet Layout)

The creation of a drawing list has been improved:

• If there already are elements on the sheet when you start the function, the program asks if you want to create a new sheet. If you select to create the new sheet, the list is added there.

• If the list continues to another sheet with elements on it, a new sheet is now created to fit the list.

You can now sort the rows in the Edit values for copied objects dialog based on the desired information by clicking the column header.

A completely new toolset called Single-line has been added.

• With Single-line, users can create various documents: single-line documents, load diagrams, and distribution diagrams.

• All the single-line functions that were previously included in Schematics are now in Single-line. Some new features, such as a new symbol library, have also been added.

• The toolset includes the functions of the former Distribution Board application, as the distribution board document serves as a variant of a single-line document. For more information on the Distribution Board functions, see Distribution Board (Table).

• Customers who previously had the Schematics application will now automatically receive the new Single-line toolset and have access to all its functions.

Updating symbol packages after symbols have been removed has been improved.

The Symbols window has been improved as follows:

• On Symbols in current drawing and Symbols in current project tabs, the list view shows the number of symbols in the drawing or in the project.

• With the Quantity list to drawing and Quantity list to clipboard buttons in the Symbols section, you can add a quantity list into the drawing. If you are on the Symbols in current drawing tab, the list will include all the symbols in the current drawing. If you are on the Symbols in current project tab, the list will include all the symbols in the current project's arrangement drawings.

The Insert symbol on operating sector function now allows users to create four types of sectors:

• Traditional sectors (angle of 1–359)

• Full circle sector

• Full circle sector with polygon inside it

• Free form sector

With the Wire marking (automatic) function, the cable ID is now marked to the ID attribute of the marking symbol. By default, the attribute is hidden but can be shown by turning on ID attributes for symbols.

You can now edit both cableways and vertical cableways with the same Edit function that is located to the Cableways group on the Layout tab. The function opens the right editing function after you have selected the cableways to be edited.

You can draw location boundaries to arrangement drawings with the following functions:

• Single-line tab > Cabinets and feeders group > Boundary

• Schematics tab > Other functions group > Boundaries menu > Location boundary

• Cabinet Layout tab > Cabinets group > Draw menu > Location boundary

The visualization window has been renewed: The round tool menu has been replaced with a new toolbar. In addition, a viewcube tool is available for changing the view direction.

Space information can now be read from the space objects in reference drawings.

Information about deleted cables is now included in export. This way, it is possible to only update the cables in Plant Modeller, instead of synchronizing all changes.

There are two new functions in the auxiliary functions menu:

• Hide attribute from all symbol's occurrences – With this function, it is possible to select a symbol and hide the attribute from all the symbol's occurrences.

• Show attribute from all symbol's occurrences – With this function, it is possible to select a symbol and show the attribute for all the symbol's occurrences.

With the new Show text option in cable termination pair shield settings, you can select to either show or hide the pair shield text.

Removing cable terminations and cable termination occurrences has been improved: Removing the determining element also removes the connections. If the other end of the cable termination has been connected and the other not, the reference is not removed from the unconnected end.

The performance of the application has been improved.

Drop-down menus where filtering is possible (in the grid, for example) have been improved to be case-insensitive, i.e. you now get the same search results when typing uppercase and lowercase letters.

A new function, Type definitions, has been added to the Management tab. This function allows the user to add their own device types into the database, and then define them to the devices on the Devices tab or in the Device properties dialog.

In cable type, cable package definition, product information, additional information, plate definition and product model management dialogs, you can now update the latest changes made by other users to be shown in the grid with the button.

It is now possible to collapse and expand all grouped data rows by right-clicking in the grid or auxiliary grid and selecting Collapse all rows and Expand all rows.

It is now possible to change the document name from the label rows with the Rename option.

If a project document is not found in the project directory but it is in the project database, it is marked with red on the Documents tab. In the project tree on the drawing side, the document is marked with gray.

You can now select several feeders for which you want to create the same protective device. If you select feeders that already have a protective device, they are edited according to your definitions.

The Schematics column has been added, and it can be selected to be shown in the grid with the Show columns function.

When inserting label symbols, the coordinates were not always taken into account when the symbol had a language ID.

The symbol standard and location settings were not correctly saved if the drawing was not in a project.

When creating drawing lists, the rows did not always fit on the sheets, resulting in overlapping rows.

Importing and exporting group data did not work as should.

The Properties window did not always show the length value.

The wiring marking settings defined in the Wiring dialog were not applied when drawing.

Starting to edit wiring information from the drawing sometimes crashed the application.

Cable package marking was not shown correctly if there was an overlapping wiring onto the marking was added.

Neutral conductor and protective earth were drawn even though PEN was selected.

The Connect symbols to wiring  function broke wiring marks and added them incorrectly.

In 3D part generation, selecting cables and tubes to be generated crashed the application.

In IFC export, editing one piece of product information affected multiple pieces of product information.

All cableway types were exported to IFC even when they had not been selected.

Sometimes making a gap to a cableway crashed the application.

Removing raceways from a drawing did not work correctly.

When changing device size according to an occurrence, the Z size was not taken into account for 3D symbols.

If user saved their own symbol with special characters in the name, the symbol was saved but not available in symbol menus.

Symbols did not always work correctly when the product model had an address as additional information.

The application was slow with a large number of symbols.

When counting light fixture positions, the 3D elements were included.

The wire ID was not changed when wiring through a symbol.

Deleting a wire in wire properties and then editing it via the project tree resulted in an error.

When adding a reference with the Draw this wire function, the wire data of the wire being drawn disappeared.

In wiring and cable combing, starting cable type management resulted in the application crashing when the drawing was not in a project.

The application sometimes crashed when drawing cable termination (prev. cable combing).

Unnecessary rows were sometimes created in CAD reports.

It was not possible to insert a feeder symbol via the Distribution boards and groups project tree when the symbol was assigned to the feeder.

When a terminal block was inserted on wiring, the wiring was not cut below the symbol.

The station ID was not updated to the drawing if the ID had been created via the I/O card property dialog.

References to contactors representing multiple parts were not shown correctly in PDFs.

Adding additional information for a location boundary resulted in the application crashing.

Circuit generation did not work with device boundaries.

The length of the common attribute value was not checked which resulted in an error when opening a drawing.

When the product model was removed from an I/O card the channels were also removed even though that had not been selected.

User-defined system information was not shown when mapping systems.

In Distribution board and group management, zeroes were removed from the beginning of group numbers in connection with copying.

In Distribution board and group management, the Move to another distribution board function allowed inserting another distribution board's group to a different distribution board's drawing.

When the drawing was not in a project, checking the group numbers did not work correctly. Therefore, when adding a group that was already in the drawing no notification was given.

In Distribution board and group management, column headers were incorrect if Electrotechnical calculations was not selected.

The Terminal strip to drawing function did not use the symbol defined in product information.

The Set sheet function did not change the scale for the drawing frame.

With product model devices, the wrong 3D symbol was used.

It was possible to save changes even when the database structure was not up-to-date.

When using picking lists, the description was taken to the database instead of the value.

Wiring properties and circuit properties were not always saved correctly.

Locking of planning area and device type information worked differently in the grid and the Device properties dialog.

Project clean-up also cleaned objects not selected to be cleaned.

When the product model was changed in device properties, the product model information was not updated in the drawing.

Updating or replacing a product model sometimes resulted in an error.

When replacing product information, a new piece of information was created when the selection included information that did not exist yet.

Product information was not copied from a cable along with the cable.

If there were two pieces of additional information with the same attribute, they were not updated correctly.

Removing a document from the project sometimes resulted in an error.

If there were special characters in the target directory, the application crashed.

Creating a report resulted in an error if another document was open in Excel at the same time.

If the absolute path led to the project folder or its sub-folder, reports from the project copies were also stored to the original project.

Removing already generated material in Windows Explorer and then starting generation for the same material again resulted in an error.

It was not possible to set a default drawing frame for drawings of the single-line type.

When the location was changed for a distribution board frame, duplicates were created of all feeders.

Wiring references did not work as should in single-line diagrams and load diagrams.

When drawing a cable package, it was possible to select an existing one but it was assigned a new ID.

It was possible to create cables without systems.

When several wires were created for internal wires, wire harnesses and busbars because of cut points, they were all given the same ID instead of a running ID.

The Redraw wire function did not use the original wire color.

Changing the cable package definition in the Cable package properties dialog resulted in an error.

Pin values or signal types were not shown in the Insert object info to drawing dialog.

When inserting a device occurrence via the project tree, the Other symbol button in the insertion dialog did not show user symbols.

When drawing wiring with a reference, two references were created.

When a cable type was added and a cable of that type was drawn to a drawing not in a project, cable wires were shown only after saving, closing and reopening the drawing.

Copying raceways did not work as should.

Generating collision geometry for reference drawings did not work as should.

When inserting a device via the Cabinet Layout tab, F8 did not work for rotating the symbol.

DB Tool crashed when a lot of items were selected in the project tree.

On the Devices tab, the Circuits auxiliary grid did not show circuit type or circuit number. Furthermore, the customer circuit name field did not show the dynamic circuit even if it existed.

When removing a product model from a device, the pins were also removed even when they had occurrences.

Creating a distribution board in an SQL project sometimes resulted in an error.

When setting additional information for product models, the value was handled incorrectly.

It was not possible to select settings located outside the project directory from the Saved report settings drop-down menu.

It was not possible to remove an imported clipboard project which then prevented new imports.

The following new design languages to be used for symbol descriptions, for example, are available: Chinese, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and Romanian.

After changing the Shared data files setting, the user will be notified that the change is only applied after restarting the application. See General settings.

In the product model dialog, it is now possible to also add single-line symbols for product models.

In the Product models project tree, you can now

• Copy the selected product model by right-clicking and selecting Copy product model

• Access product model management by right-clicking the project name and selecting Product model management

In addition, the Product models function has been renamed as Project product models.

In the Electrical window, Edit project has been replaced with Open DB Tool both in the right-click menu and the button tooltip.

When the Device properties dialog is opened via the project tree or the drawing, it is possible to add a symbol for the device on the Symbols tab before inserting an occurrence in the drawing.

• You can select the symbol from the toolset symbols, from a file, or from the drawing.

• You can replace or remove symbols that have not been inserted.

• The type of the drawing affects replacing: If you are replacing a symbol of the same drawing type as that of the current drawing (single-line symbol / single-line diagram, for example), you have the option to select from the drawing or from a menu. If you are replacing a symbol of a different drawing type (single-line symbol / arrangement drawing, for example), you can only select from the menu.

In the Group / feeder properties dialog, it is now possible to select the symbol for a protective device.

• The selected symbol is shown in the dialog.

  

• When the symbol has not been selected, the Single-line symbol drop-down menu shows all single-line protective device symbols in the project.

• If the desired symbol is not available in the Single-line symbol drop-down menu, you can select it from the Fuses, Circuit breakers or Protection switches menu by clicking the button.

• The number of poles is automatically taken from the symbol definition, if one exists.

• If the symbol has been inserted, it cannot be changed.

In the project tree, the Insert an occurrence of the protective device of this feeder into drawing and Assign a device in the drawing as a protective device to this feeder functions are now available for feeders in the right-click menu. If the protective device symbol has already been inserted or no symbol has been selected for the protective device, insertion is disabled.

The functions are available in multi-line diagrams and single-line diagrams.

When creating a new single-line diagram, load diagram or multi-line diagram, the default frame is automatically inserted.

• If default frames have been set in the project settings, those are inserted.

• If default frames have not been set or the drawing is not in a project, the frame is set according to the Drawing frames and logos dialog.

The Insert object info function is now available in the wiring reference right-click menu. The function allows you to add, for example, reference pair IDs and database descriptions in the drawing.

You can also edit this information in the DB tool, on the new References tab.

Azure authentication can now be used in data transfer between Electrical and eShare.

It is no longer necessary to regenerate 3D after changing the product model's 3D symbol; the symbol is now updated in the drawing right away.

Column names have been changed as follows:

• Schematics symbol has been changed to Multi-line diagram symbol.

• Centre layout symbol has been changed to Cabinet layout symbol.

• Layout symbol and Installation Drawings symbol have been changed to Arrangement drawing symbol.

• Distribution Board Schema symbol and Centre Schemas symbol have been changed to Distribution board symbol.

• 3D-symbol has been changed to 3D symbol.

It is now possible to edit reference pair IDs and database descriptions on the new References tab. The tab is hidden by default – you can show the tab by right-clicking any of the tabs and selecting Show tabs and then References.

In the reporting tool, column names have been changed as follows:

• From Space Number has been changed to From Space ID.

• To Space Number has been changed to To Space ID.

The project tree did not update when moving channels and I/Os.

Saving user's own cable markings did not work for single-line diagrams or load diagrams.

It was not possible to draw a cable package for all single-line document types via the Wirings project tree.

It was not possible to replace the drawing frame set for a distribution board drawing.

If there was no drawing frame, the feeders had to be inserted one by one.

Feeder texts 1–4 added to a protective device with the Insert object info function were not shown.

In load diagrams, power was shown as watts instead of kilowatts.

In single-line diagrams and multi-line diagrams, if Use default cable marking had been selected in the wiring dialog but the value in the settings was empty the marking symbol was not inserted when drawing the cable.

F8 did not rotate symbols in cabinet layout and arrangement drawings when inserting next to another symbol had been activated.

The elevation marking was sometimes h=0 because the reference was generated into the drawing before the cable tray object it referred to.

When a cableway did not have a system, selecting one resulted in the application crashing.

It was not possible to make a gap or make the cableway go under/over if the initial elevation was 0.0.

Cableway did not use the defined color if the 3D layer was not found when first generating 3D.

Spare amount was not taken into account for every cable.

When generating 3D symbols, Z offset was unnecessarily defined.

Printing did not work correctly for arrangement drawings.

In the Project product models dialog, symbols were not shown for product models imported from an older version.

When a product model was added via the Project information / settings dialog, symbol icons were not updated when imported to project product models.

If free text had been selected for a feeder, short-circuit current was not calculated.

Adding a new sheet between existing ones was not correctly updated in the properties dialog nor on the Schematics tab.

Wire cutting did not always cut the wiring of all wires.

When using the Draw cable function from the right-click menu, the cable marking disappeared from the selected cable.

After drawing a cable wire, when the wiring window was called again by right-clicking it was not up-to-date.

Copying markings added with the Insert object info to drawing function from one distribution board to another did not work correctly.

The text size set in the Insert object info to drawing dialog was not used when inserting.

When inserting a terminal strip via the project tree, it was possible to select plug connector or device connector as the type.

Removing a terminal block created in the database from the drawing also deleted it from the database even though automatic removal was not allowed.

A new location boundary was added to the project tree when the user started to edit a location boundary in the drawing but closed the editing dialog without making any changes.

The Occurrences of the location function also listed frames of drawings that were not open.

System information was not shown in the drawing for dynamic customer IDs.

When inserting symbols as mass, ortho was not disabled.

Mass insertion was sometimes interrupted because of missing symbol information.

Plate texts did not update in the drawing when inserting plates.

When terminal blocks got size information from the device, it was possible to change the size in terminal block drawing settings without it having any effect.

If a default symbol had been defined in terminal strip settings, it was used for multi-level terminal blocks instead of the product model symbol.

When a symbol with several pins was added for a product model, only one of the pins was included.

It was not possible to change the system for a location on the Locations tab.

It was not possible to download product information databases without a license to the previous version.

Importing cable types from another project resulted in an error.

Importing user databases from an older version resulted in an error.

The device list by occurrences did not show the X, Y, and Z locations.

When a report was updated via the Documents project tree, the filters originally used were not taken into account.

When editing a previously saved report, changes to filtering were not taken into account when saving.

Opening modular generation on the drawing side resulted in an error when new devices with new device types had been added to the source database.

Copying a hole did not work as should.

Saving a customer drawing resulted in an error because of an empty storey in storey settings.

The Terminal strip connections report did not include unconnected terminal blocks.

In SQL, importing another project as a temporary project resulted in an error.

Updating the tabs in the Electrical window in connection with changing the drawing type resulted in the application crashing.

In SQL, when opening the project, user right check resulted in an error.

Users' own distribution board symbols were saved into the wrong menu.

Using Undo before the Assign symbols in drawing to this device function resulted in the application crashing.

Inserting object information sometimes resulted in the application crashing.

A leader added with the Mark a location ID into drawing  function was not updated if the visibility of the location customer ID was based on the default setting.

Higher elevation was shown incorrectly for a vertical cable tray.

Defining 3D symbols for distribution boards was not possible.

Copying feeders created multiple devices with the same full ID.

Replacing symbols via the Symbols tab did not work.

When moving from a storey to another with a different planning area, an uninformative error message was shown.

Contact pack generation did not find the correct symbols.

Running numbering did not work for internal wires.

When drawing an undefined wire, the reference description given for the target sheet in the Wiring reference dialog was not shown in the drawing.

For devices, distribution boards and groups, adding and replacing functions were incorrectly shown on the Symbols tab.

Adding product information with additional information for a device created an extra row in the additional information table.

Cable type was shown as feeder's protective device type even though protective device type had also been defined for the device.

Opening the I/O and I/O channels tabs resulted in multiple errors.

In project settings, the Wire markings section has been changed:

• A new setting, Default symbol for wire markings, is available. With this setting, you can define the default symbol to be used in wire markings.

• Use tick line in wire markings has been removed.

With Ctrl + D, you can now move between the Electrical tab and the tab related to the active drawing (Schematics, for example).

The Devices project trees now first show the drawing type (Multi-line diagram, for example) for occurrences, instead of the symbol type. Symbol type (Protective device, for example) is now shown in parentheses after the drawing type.

With the Project information function, you can define project information common to all drawings in the project. You can find the function by selecting Electrical tab > Frames and labels group > Management menu > Project information.

In the Device properties dialog, on the Symbols tab, attributes and their values are read when selecting symbols. For the attributes that create additional information, you can click the button to define when to update or add additional information according to the symbol attributes. The object's text fields 1–4 are also updated according to the E_SYMBTXT 1–4 attributes.

The options for the setting are as follows:

• Always – Additional information is always updated.

• Never – Additional information is never updated.

• Select – The user can select the additional information they want to add/update. After selecting a symbol, the Update selected dialog opens and the user can select what to update:

  

The addition/update is done according to your selection as long as you change the setting.

Saving customer drawings now works similarly with creating new sheets and changing sheets when it comes to the SLEHTI layers.

Saving customer drawings can now also be started by selecting File > Save as > Save customer drawings.

The software online help is now primarily opened from the docs.cadmatic.com website. If the requested help topic is unavailable for some reason, the online help installed with the software is used instead. The user can also decide to always use the online help installed with the software. You can find the setting for this by selecting File > Settings > General settings:

In Distribution board and feeder management, the distribution board found in the drawing frame/label is now selected by default instead of the first distribution board in the tree.

In the Distribution board properties dialog, on the Feeders tab, two new columns are available: Protective device single-line symbol and Protective device multi-line symbol. These columns show all the protective device symbols separated with commas. It is not possible to edit the values in these columns.

In the Distribution board properties dialog, on the Feeders tab, it is now possible to edit protective device IDs via the new Protective device ID column. You can, for example, assign a new ID for several feeders at once.

It is now possible to add cable packages to user's selection list.

For busbars, it is now checked that they have at least one incoming feeder.

Copying has been improved: When copying protective devices, the type of the first outgoing feeder protected by the device is saved for the occurrences.

When creating a load diagram, you are now prompted to define the object ID and electrical position for the drawing label.

Saving user symbols has been changed:

• After starting the function, you are now asked to select the desired elements from the drawing.

• By default, No Frame is selected. With Select, you can replace the objects selected after starting the function with those selected from the drawing, from the multi-line diagram symbol menu or from the arrangement drawing symbol menu. The objects selected after starting the function are then removed.

• When Framed is selected, the objects selected after starting the function are added to the framed symbol. With Select, you can replace the objects selected after starting the function with those selected from the drawing, from the multi-line diagram symbol menu or from the arrangement drawing symbol menu. The objects selected after starting the function are then removed, and the newly selected is added inside the frame.

  

The Draw busbar dialog has been changed as follows:

• All location types are now allowed. Therefore, the Distribution board drop-down menu has been renamed as Location.

• The ID field no longer shows the previous ID. An empty ID is not allowed.

• A new field, Width, has been added. This allows you to select 0.25, 0.35, 0.50, 0.70, 1.00, 1.40, or 2.00 as the line width instead of the default.

The Draw busbar into the drawing function is now available in the Distribution boards and groups project tree. With it, you can easily insert the busbar, its incoming and outgoing feeders and, if necessary, the location boundaries.

The following values are set for system variables when creating or opening a load diagram or defining load diagram as the drawing type:

• GROUPGRIP – 2

• GROUPSEL – 1

These values enable you to move objects in a group (such as feeder packages) as one entity.

On the Layout tab in the Devices group, the Symbol functions menu has been changed: the Light fixture and Linear light fixture functions are now located in the new Light fixtures menu along with some new functions.

The information box heading is now shown in the design language for cableways, cables, cable packages, feeders, and wires.

With the Import storeys function added to project's storey settings, you can import storey information from an IFC model to Electrical. All parts in the model will be imported, i.e. sites, buildings, and storeys. However, the files attached to them will not be imported. After the import, you can edit the settings or attach files related to the storeys.

Symbol functions now include the LED strip function.

• The function is available by selecting Layout tab > Devices group > Symbol functions menu > Light fixtures menu > LED strip.

• In the LED strip window, you can define the width and height along with other properties and draw them with elevations in 2D and 3D like any other Electrical symbols.

• Drawing a LED strip creates a device with a device ID. The device ID allows you to use them with product models, functioning just like other light fixtures.

Symbol functions now include the DIALuximport and export functions.

• The functions are available by selecting Layout tab > Devices group > Symbol functions menu > Light fixtures menu.

• With the DIALux import function, you can import light fixtures with product information from DIALux to Electrical after the light calculations are complete. This will help to insert light fixtures at the correct coordinates and create the product models using product information.

  The function compares the light fixtures previously imported from DIALux with the ones about to be imported. Based on this, each light fixture is given a status; the light fixtures are clearly marked as new, in need of an update or to be deleted.

  

• With the DIALux export function, you can export spaces to DIALux.

When inserting symbols via the Symbols window, it is now possible to decide each time whether to set the ID visible or not.

• The button (Toggle ID visibility on/off) is located in the Symbols section.

• The function is available regardless of the tab selected in the Symbol insertion functions section.

• When the ID has been set visible, the button is highlighted.

A new column, Feeder Cable ID, has been added in the Distribution board and feeder management dialog.

It is now possible to save your own wire markings.

• The save function for wire markings can be found by selecting Schematics tab > Markings group > Wire menu > Save user wire marking. Saving works the same way as for cable markings: you select the elements from the drawing and then continue making definitions in the Save symbol dialog.

• User wire marking menu can be found by selecting Schematics tab > Markings group > Wire menu > User wire markings.

• In project settings, in the Wire markings section, you can define a user wire marking as the default symbol for wire markings.

In drawings other than those of type Distribution board (table) and Cabinet layout, there is now a new function, Define cable package occurrence, available in the project tree. You can use the function to define cables or wires in the drawing as occurrences of the desired cable package.

Defining internal wires has been changed as follows:

• Internal wires has been added as an option to the Show section.

• The Unselect wirings by selecting from drawing button has been changed to Select/unselect wires from drawing. Previously, the button allowed the user to select the wires not to be defined. Now, the button enables the user to either add the selected wire to the list or remove it from the list.

Furthermore, you can open the same definition dialog by selecting the lines in the drawing, right-clicking and selecting Automatic defining of internal wirings. The only difference to the Define internal wirings automatically function in the menu is that the dialog only lists the selected wires.

Busbars now have connection points that follow the module spacing defined in project settings.

In addition to Ctrl + <>, you can now use Ctrl + S to change the starting direction.

The integration to CADMATIC Plant Modeller has been improved as follows:

• It is now possible to publish single-line diagrams and load diagrams to eShare.

• If the From/To device's mapped additional information is empty, the information is taken from the device's location.

It is now possible to create product models by importing information from EDZ files used in EPLAN. EDZ files from EPLAN contain all the specifications for generating product models in Electrical: product information, symbols, product images, and manuals. In case all the information is not needed in Electrical, it is possible to specify what not to include in the EDZ import.

EDZ files are available, for example, on manufacturers’ websites.

The drawing limits are now always set according to the paper size. Therefore, the Set limits option is disabled in the Set sheet dialog.

Using key combination Ctrl + Shift + V when pasting copied terminal blocks, the terminal blocks will become new occurrences instead of new devices.

When coming back to the DB Tool from another view, the active grid is updated.

The link to the Finnish electrical code system (sahkonumerot.fi) is now only shown if the Locale settings is empty or set to Finland.

In the Occurrence documents column, the documents are now organized according to the file name.

Two new columns are available: Protective device single-line symbol and Protective device multi-line symbol. These columns show all the protective device symbols separated with commas. It is not possible to edit the values in these columns.

You are now allowed to edit protective device IDs in the grid via the new Protective device ID column. You can, for example, assign a new ID for several groups at once.

In Import definition management, it is now possible to import your own device types and link them in the Device type column.

The following report types are now available:

• Device and location list by occurrences

• Sum list of devices and locations

• Sum list of devices and locations with descriptions

• Device and location list by ID

The user was not notified if the shared database on SQL server was older than the application version.

Project information was updated only when closing and reopening the drawing, creating a new sheet, or changing the frame.

When creating a new drawing based on a template, the drawing type was not correct.

The Compare document versions function only compared the active Excel sheet instead of all the sheets.

Starting the function for adding a new revision sometimes resulted in the application crashing.

If shading was enabled, saving did not take the given settings into account.

In the Terminal block connection diagram CAD report, linking did not work if the terminal blocks had the same pin number.

When creating a new feeder, the preview for the protective device symbol did not work if the symbol was selected from the Single-line symbol drop-down menu.

When copying drawings, cables were not connected to the feeders correctly.

When creating a new sheet, the frame was added automatically. In addition, it was possible to replace the frame.

The Print drawings of Electrical Position function did not work as should.

If filter was on, inserting or deleting rows did not work as should.

When adding or replacing a symbol package, user's last choice was not suggested by default.

After copying from a single-line diagram to another drawing, editing the distribution board and then the feeder resulted in an error.

When copying a feeder to another sheet, attributes disappeared.

Copying from layer to layer was slow.

When copying a group and its devices created a new location, original feeder location information was not copied for it.

The filling function added information into the wrong fields.

For the first opened document, the Symbols window did not always show project elevations or systems.

The command line showed wrong commands.

Batch saving did not take device's device texts into account.

Saving your own symbol was possible via the Schematics tab even though the drawing type was Arrangement drawing.

It was not possible to rotate a feeder symbol with F8.

The types were not shown correctly for underfloor heating.

Product model definitions were not followed when adding heaters into the drawing.

In wiring properties, it was not possible to edit the ID of an individual cable belonging to a cable package.

For cable packages, the spare amount defined in the Wiring properties dialog was not saved.

Assigning IDs for cable packages did not work as should.

When a cable was drawn by right-clicking the group mark, spare amount was not updated or set.

Selecting a wire set for a drawing that was not in a project resulted in an error.

Cableways were incorrectly handled if the settings were changed several times.

Elevation was not changed correctly when editing it for multiple cableways at once.

The Mark/pick wiring data tang.text function did not work as should.

Reference texts were formed incorrectly.

When removing a device occurrence, the space information was not removed from the device.

When counting quantities, underfloor heating cables were not included.

It was not possible to insert product model devices with layout symbols into a drawing of type Layout (not in scale).

In queue printing, it was not possible to select all CAD drawings from the Files of type drop-down menu.

The Export to IFC function did not include all the selected drawings if the drawings where not in the project.

Logo creation allowed spaces in symbol names, resulting in non-functioning symbols.

Copying and pasting resulted in an error.

The Change symbol function did not always work right unless done twice.

When the customer ID had been selected to be shown in the Customer IDs project settings, the internal wire number was not shown.

Primary and secondary cross-references did not update correctly.

When drawing a cable package, a customer ID was assigned along the ID.

While drawing a busbar, making changes in the Properties window resulted in the application crashing.

When copying several wirings of type internal, undefined or busbar in a multi-line diagram, IDs for the wires in the copy were sometimes assigned in the wrong order.

Drawing cable wires did not work correctly if the wires were not drawn in the default order.

The Draw wire (main circuit) and Draw wire (control circuit)  functions did not change to the selected type.

Cable marking disappeared when a device was inserted at the end of the cable.

Editing the terminal block ID created a new strip but the terminal block did not move to that strip.

The Assign symbols in drawing to this device function did not work as should.

The order of terminal blocks in the drawing was different from the project tree.

Deleting an I/O symbol sometimes resulted in the application crashing.

When removing an I/O card or moving it to another channel, attributes were not handled correctly.

When editing an I/O card, selecting more than one cell on the I/O channels tab resulted in an error.

In project product models, the items were shown in the wrong order.

Creating a list of internal wires did not work as should when selecting a specific location and specific devices.

All the information was not correctly updated between cabinet layout drawings and multi-line diagrams.

The drawing limits were not set according to the paper size.

Texts were not always clearly shown when dark theme was used.

If the drawing did not have a project database set, all the wiring references for cables were not saved into the drawing.

Opening a project as read-only resulted in an error.

When project information was grouped, the group heading did not always update correctly.

It was possible to edit information although the fields were locked in the product model.

Copying several parallel cells sometimes resulted in an error.

Filtering made object mass deletion slow.

Wire colors for different languages were not generated for cable types which resulted in the colors lacking from the cable connections list as well.

In the Groups grid, the Language translation function was missing from the right-click menu.

In cable type management, some of the descriptions for colors were incorrect.

When creating a new cable package, the type did not update in the grid.

A newly created cable package definition did not become available in the New cable package dialog.

In Cable type management, defining color to a newly created wire did not work correctly.

When editing via the grid, the cable ID needed to be changed twice before it was saved.

When a cable referenced another drawing, removing the cable did not work correctly.

If there were I/O cards in the project and the Product models column was set to be shown on the I/O channels tab, the application crashed.

Replacing one piece of product information removed all other product information from those devices.

Filtering was not taken into account when checking added product information.

Additional information was created incorrectly when a product model was added to the project from the standard database.

Even though user's own device type had been assigned to a device to be imported, the device type was set to Undefined.

Importing product information with a line change in item code resulted in an error.

Reimporting cables did not work correctly if the cables had been added into a cable package after the import.

It was not possible to copy individual sheets to the clipboard from single-line diagrams, load diagrams, or distribution board tables .

Using clipboard projects was very slow.

When creating reports, it was not possible to use absolute cell references.

If a new sheet was added to the drawing, the cable connections list did not update correctly.

The Device list by ID report did not show correct numbers for product information.

In the Cable properties dialog, selecting From or To information via the tree was very slow.

Information was sometimes shown incorrectly for feeder occurrences.

User's own menus were hidden when changing the drawing type.

When copying product models, all product models were not included.

It was not possible to add a position mark for a LED strip.

It was not possible to enter a free angle after indicating group mark insertion point.

When selecting to add wire marking in the Wiring window, the length of the wiring was not checked and the wiring mark was added for short wirings as well.

When wiring was cut by inserting a symbol on it, cable IDs were generated incorrectly.

Opening the cableway edit dialog continuously increased the number of GDI objects which then eventually resulted in the application crashing.

When creating 3D walls, the internal symbol elements were created on the active layer instead of layer 0.

Wire occurrences were rotated incorrectly which resulted in an error when opening the drawing.

ID attributes were not correctly updated when changing from one document to another.

Wire number and color were not shown for cable wire markings.

After cable wire marking and defining undefined lines as cable wires, the color was updated incorrectly.

When copying a cable from a project to another project without that cable's cable type, cable information was sometimes lost.

Both color and number were always shown for cable termination, regardless of what had been selected.

It was possible to create cables without cable type.

Deleting cables did not work as should.

Changing the device IDs via the tree did not work as should.

Connectors were not numbered correctly when inserted.

In terminal strip properties, on the Subdevices tab, sorting the devices by clicking the Full ID column header did not work.

User's own menus were not available when saving a symbol.

Creating a multi-level terminal block from a product model did not work as should.

Changing the Copy user symbol definitions to subdirectory of project directory setting resulted in the application crashing.

On the I/O channels tab, double-clicking in the Connection status and Connected I/Os columns resulted in an error.

Merging objects resulted in an error.

When creating a new cable for a project, creating the cable type resulted in an error.

Copying cable types only worked once, resulting in errors after the first time.

In EDZ import, there were graphical issues with symbols and problems with setting the size for cabinet layout symbols and importing in SQL projects.

For additional information of type URL, the links did not work.

Additional information was not copied along with the product information.

The cable connection list by locations did not take the old column names into account.

In the Symbols window, on the (Symbols in current project) tab, imported product model symbols were not shown or it was not possible to insert them if there was no occurrence found for the device included in the product model.

The information box for a cable always showed the calculated length instead of the fixed length.

For drawings of type Distribution board (table), the symbol layer often changed when editing the drawing frame.

When the system was changed in the Properties window, the system was only changed for one device instead of all those selected.

User's own menu groups were not available after changing to another application and back.

In the Group / feeder properties dialog, clicking the (Remove) button resulted in an error.

Creating product models when inserting symbols did not work as should.

The Define links for texts / attributes between template drawing and an Excel worksheet function resulted in an error when selecting the document.

When syncing changes from DM, only the active document was updated instead of all open drawings.

If drag mode (Tools tab > Settings group >  (Drag mode on/off)) was enabled, wiring did not take the given coordinates into account.

Adding a reference after starting the Extend wire or Redraw the wire function sometimes resulted in an error.

Changing the drawing scale with the Set drawing area function did not work as should.

The supply device defined for an I/O was not shown in the I/O grid.
