Release notes

The following term changes have been applied:

• In Schematics, the term cable combing has been replaced with cable termination.

• In Layout, the term fluorescent light has been replaced with linear light.

• In Layout, the term raceway has been replaced with cableway.

• In Layout, the term package symbol has been replaced with symbol group.

• In Cabinet Layout, the term race-way has been replaced with duct.

• In the project tree:

  • Distribution boards and groups has been replaced with Distribution boards and feeders.

  • Floors and spaces has been replaced with Storeys and spaces.

• In DB Tool, the Reports function now consistently talks about reports instead of lists, for example:

  • List options is now Report options.

  • Create lists is now Create reports.

  • Create separate lists from groups is now Create separate reports from groups.

• In DB Tool, terms related to space functions have been changed as follows:

  • Space number > Space ID

  • Number text > Space number

  • Flat > Apartment

Two new date formats, dd-mm-yyyy and d/m/yyyy, have been added to the Date format (default) menu options in the Common section.

In the Common, symbols section, the new Mark 'To be deleted' cables into the drawing option allows the user to select whether to show the cables marked as to be deleted in the drawing.

In the Documents project tree, it is now possible to close drawings via the project tree by right-clicking and selecting Close drawing.

• If you select to close the current document, the application and the drawing are changed.

• If you select to close a drawing other than the current one, the application will not be changed.

Some of the drawing types have been renamed to better indicate the significance of the drawing type versus application; the drawing type designates what can be done with that application. The main changes are the following:

• There is a new toolset called Single-line that covers the single-line functions that were previously in the Schematics application. In addition, the Distribution Board application has been incorporated into Single-line as its own toolset.

• The document type associated with the Schematics application has been renamed to Multi-line. You can create all types of multi-line documents, such as connection diagrams, termination diagrams, and schematic style diagrams, with it.

Due to the changes mentioned above, the Start a new Electrical drawing dialog has been renewed:

• You can open the function by selecting Electrical tab > Documents group > New.

• The different drawing types are now grouped based on the application.

• The new Single-line application drawing types, Single-line diagram and Load diagram, are grouped under Single-line. Furthermore, the former Distribution Board Schema drawing type has been renamed as Distribution board (table), and it is also located under Single-line.

• The Layout application drawing types have been renamed: the former Layout drawing type is now Arrangement, and the former Layout, Schema drawing type is now Arrangement (not in scale).

• The former Schematics application drawing type Schema has been renamed as Multi-line diagram.

You can now draw a revision cloud. The Cloud function is available on the Electrical tab, in the Revisions group.

In the Symbols window, there is a new tab with the icon. On this tab, you can select another drawing type whose symbols you want to show in the dialog temporarily. In an arrangement drawing, for example, you can select to show symbols from the Schematics application drawing type.

This setting will be valid for as long as you have the Symbols window open. Once you close the window and open it again, symbols will again be shown based on the current drawing type.

The following symbol editing functions are now available in the Symbols window:

• Delete symbol

• Move symbol

• Move symbol and stretch wiring (not in Cabinet Layout)

• Copy symbol

• Edit symbol

• Change symbol (not in Cabinet Layout)

The creation of a drawing list has been improved:

• If there already are elements on the sheet when you start the function, the program asks if you want to create a new sheet. If you select to create the new sheet, the list is added there.

• If the list continues to another sheet with elements on it, a new sheet is now created to fit the list.

You can now sort the rows in the Edit values for copied objects dialog based on the desired information by clicking the column header.

A completely new toolset called Single-line has been added.

• With Single-line, users can create various documents: single-line documents, load diagrams, and distribution diagrams.

• All the single-line functions that were previously included in Schematics are now in Single-line. Some new features, such as a new symbol library, have also been added.

• The toolset includes the functions of the former Distribution Board application, as the distribution board document serves as a variant of a single-line document. For more information on the Distribution Board functions, see Distribution Board (Table).

• Customers who previously had the Schematics application will now automatically receive the new Single-line toolset and have access to all its functions.

Updating symbol packages after symbols have been removed has been improved.

The Insert symbol on operating sector function now allows users to create four types of sectors:

• Traditional sectors (angle of 1–359)

• Full circle sector

• Full circle sector with polygon inside it

• Free form sector

With the Wire marking (automatic) function, the cable ID is now marked to the ID attribute of the marking symbol. By default, the attribute is hidden but can be shown by turning on ID attributes for symbols.

You can now edit both cableways and vertical cableways with the same Edit function that is located to the Cableways group on the Layout tab. The function opens the right editing function after you have selected the cableways to be edited.

You can draw location boundaries to arrangement drawings with the following functions:

• Single-line tab > Cabinets and feeders group > Boundary

• Schematics tab > Other functions group > Boundaries menu > Location boundary

• Cabinet Layout tab > Cabinets group > Draw menu > Location boundary

The visualization window has been renewed: The round tool menu has been replaced with a new toolbar. In addition, a viewcube tool is available for changing the view direction.

Space information can now be read from the space objects in reference drawings.

Information about deleted cables is now included in export. This way, it is possible to only update the cables in Plant Modeller, instead of synchronizing all changes.

There are two new functions in the auxiliary functions menu:

• Hide attribute from all symbol's occurrences – With this function, it is possible to select a symbol and hide the attribute from all the symbol's occurrences.

• Show attribute from all symbol's occurrences – With this function, it is possible to select a symbol and show the attribute for all the symbol's occurrences.

With the new Show text option in cable termination pair shield settings, you can select to either show or hide the pair shield text.

Removing cable terminations and cable termination occurrences has been improved: Removing the determining element also removes the connections. If the other end of the cable termination has been connected and the other not, the reference is not removed from the unconnected end.

The performance of the application has been improved.

Drop-down menus where filtering is possible (in the grid, for example) have been improved to be case-insensitive, i.e. you now get the same search results when typing uppercase and lowercase letters.

A new function, Type definitions, has been added to the Management tab. This function allows the user to add their own device types into the database, and then define them to the devices on the Devices tab or in the Device properties dialog.

In cable type, cable package definition, product information, additional information, plate definition and product model management dialogs, you can now update the latest changes made by other users to be shown in the grid with the button.

It is now possible to collapse and expand all grouped data rows by right-clicking in the grid or auxiliary grid and selecting Collapse all rows and Expand all rows.

It is now possible to change the document name from the label rows with the Rename option.

If a project document is not found in the project directory but it is in the project database, it is marked with red on the Documents tab. In the project tree on the drawing side, the document is marked with gray.

You can now select several feeders for which you want to create the same protective device. If you select feeders that already have a protective device, they are edited according to your definitions.

The Schematics column has been added, and it can be selected to be shown in the grid with the Show columns function.

When inserting label symbols, the coordinates were not always taken into account when the symbol had a language ID.

The symbol standard and location settings were not correctly saved if the drawing was not in a project.

When creating drawing lists, the rows did not always fit on the sheets, resulting in overlapping rows.

Importing and exporting group data did not work as should.

The Properties window did not always show the length value.

The wiring marking settings defined in the Wiring dialog were not applied when drawing.

Starting to edit wiring information from the drawing sometimes crashed the application.

Cable package marking was not shown correctly if there was an overlapping wiring onto the marking was added.

Neutral conductor and protective earth were drawn even though PEN was selected.

The Connect symbols to wiring  function broke wiring marks and added them incorrectly.

In 3D part generation, selecting cables and tubes to be generated crashed the application.

In IFC export, editing one piece of product information affected multiple pieces of product information.

All cableway types were exported to IFC even when they had not been selected.

Sometimes making a gap to a cableway crashed the application.

Removing raceways from a drawing did not work correctly.

When changing device size according to an occurrence, the Z size was not taken into account for 3D symbols.

If user saved their own symbol with special characters in the name, the symbol was saved but not available in symbol menus.

Symbols did not always work correctly when the product model had an address as additional information.

The application was slow with a large number of symbols.

When counting light fixture positions, the 3D elements were included.

The wire ID was not changed when wiring through a symbol.

Deleting a wire in wire properties and then editing it via the project tree resulted in an error.

When adding a reference with the Draw this wire function, the wire data of the wire being drawn disappeared.

In wiring and cable combing, starting cable type management resulted in the application crashing when the drawing was not in a project.

The application sometimes crashed when drawing cable termination (prev. cable combing).

Unnecessary rows were sometimes created in CAD reports.

It was not possible to insert a feeder symbol via the Distribution boards and groups project tree when the symbol was assigned to the feeder.

When a terminal block was inserted on wiring, the wiring was not cut below the symbol.

The station ID was not updated to the drawing if the ID had been created via the I/O card property dialog.

References to contactors representing multiple parts were not shown correctly in PDFs.

Adding additional information for a location boundary resulted in the application crashing.

Circuit generation did not work with device boundaries.

The length of the common attribute value was not checked which resulted in an error when opening a drawing.

When the product model was removed from an I/O card the channels were also removed even though that had not been selected.

User-defined system information was not shown when mapping systems.

In Distribution board and group management, zeroes were removed from the beginning of group numbers in connection with copying.

In Distribution board and group management, the Move to another distribution board function allowed inserting another distribution board's group to a different distribution board's drawing.

When the drawing was not in a project, checking the group numbers did not work correctly. Therefore, when adding a group that was already in the drawing no notification was given.

In Distribution board and group management, column headers were incorrect if Electrotechnical calculations was not selected.

The Terminal strip to drawing function did not use the symbol defined in product information.

The Set sheet function did not change the scale for the drawing frame.

With product model devices, the wrong 3D symbol was used.

It was possible to save changes even when the database structure was not up-to-date.

When using picking lists, the description was taken to the database instead of the value.

Wiring properties and circuit properties were not always saved correctly.

Locking of planning area and device type information worked differently in the grid and the Device properties dialog.

Project clean-up also cleaned objects not selected to be cleaned.

When the product model was changed in device properties, the product model information was not updated in the drawing.

Updating or replacing a product model sometimes resulted in an error.

When replacing product information, a new piece of information was created when the selection included information that did not exist yet.

Product information was not copied from a cable along with the cable.

If there were two pieces of additional information with the same attribute, they were not updated correctly.

Removing a document from the project sometimes resulted in an error.

If there were special characters in the target directory, the application crashed.

Creating a report resulted in an error if another document was open in Excel at the same time.

If the absolute path led to the project folder or its sub-folder, reports from the project copies were also stored to the original project.

Removing already generated material in Windows Explorer and then starting generation for the same material again resulted in an error.

It was not possible to set a default drawing frame for drawings of the single-line type.

When the location was changed for a distribution board frame, duplicates were created of all feeders.

Wiring references did not work as should in single-line diagrams and load diagrams.

When drawing a cable package, it was possible to select an existing one but it was assigned a new ID.

It was possible to create cables without systems.

When several wires were created for internal wires, wire harnesses and busbars because of cut points, they were all given the same ID instead of a running ID.

The Redraw wire function did not use the original wire color.

Changing the cable package definition in the Cable package properties dialog resulted in an error.

Pin values or signal types were not shown in the Insert object info to drawing dialog.

When inserting a device occurrence via the project tree, the Other symbol button in the insertion dialog did not show user symbols.

When drawing wiring with a reference, two references were created.

When a cable type was added and a cable of that type was drawn to a drawing not in a project, cable wires were shown only after saving, closing and reopening the drawing.

Copying raceways did not work as should.

Generating collision geometry for reference drawings did not work as should.

When inserting a device via the Cabinet Layout tab, F8 did not work for rotating the symbol.

DB Tool crashed when a lot of items were selected in the project tree.

On the Devices tab, the Circuits auxiliary grid did not show circuit type or circuit number. Furthermore, the customer circuit name field did not show the dynamic circuit even if it existed.

When removing a product model from a device, the pins were also removed even when they had occurrences.

Creating a distribution board in an SQL project sometimes resulted in an error.

When setting additional information for product models, the value was handled incorrectly.

It was not possible to select settings located outside the project directory from the Saved report settings drop-down menu.

It was not possible to remove an imported clipboard project which then prevented new imports.
